The bedroom and en suite were appalling with no housekeeping done in the 4 night stay. The hotel is sadly let down by this. Will not be staying again. We travel to Exmouth twice a year and thought this would make a nice change. Worst experience in Exmouth.

Bodily fluids & bugs.
When we unfolded the sofa bed, which our son was going to use to sleep on, there were a number of stains on the mattress. These appeared to be as a result of various types of bodily fluid. The room seemed to have an high number of insects flying about. Also, as soon as the sofa bed was fully unfolded, three beetles emerged from it. Needless to say we were disgusted. We packed our bags, informed the receptionist (who didn’t seem to really care) and we left. This was at approximately 11:00pm and we a 3 hour drive home. It was that disgusting we were still prepared to drive 3 hours home rather than sleep in that room. Easily the worst hotel experience we have ever had.

Staff who cleaned Room 305 on Sunday 27 August 2023 stole my iphone 8 from my bag in the wardrobe. My husband was in the room on Saturday 26 Aug when they were cleaning the room but we were out on Sunday 27 Aug and that's when they took the iphone from my bag in the wardrobe. My husband contacted the hotel for them to say they cannot do anything about the stolen phone and insisting that cleaner did not take my iphone. This is the first and last time I stayed in a place like this, we usually book in renowned hotels like marriott, hilton but this was a group holiday sp did not have that option. Dated hotel, dirty, unprofessional reception staff, arguments between guests, police attended in the early hours in the morning, manager can only apologise but could not stop one of the resident in the apartment to stop behaving in an unreasonable manner disturbing guests. Worst stay ever and got robbed. Good luck if you are thinking to book into this hotel!!!!!!

It is a wonderfully old-fashioned hotel with a lovely garden and excellent location on the coast. The breakfast room staff knew their job well (better than in many five-star hotels!) and did it with nice attitude. My room has left a conflicting impression: breathtaking views and decent bathroom on one hand and disappointingly dirty floor and some furniture, scuffed wallpaper on the other. I wish the rooms could be upgraded gently, without destroying the charm of the place.

Disappointed stay.
Very tired hotel in need of refurbishment. Bed quality not up to standard and room cleaner awful. People partying in room below till 3am and no one stopped them even after we reported it and complained. Breakfast was ok but little choice, friendly staff.

My room was stuck in the 80's. It was truly awful and my shoes stuck to the carpet. Water didn't quickly drain from the shower or sinks, the sofa was threadbare, the carpets were garish, the kitchenette cupboards didn't fit squarely and I couldn't open the drawers. I didn't want to touch anything in the kitchen and certainly wouldn't have used the utensils or provisions to prepare anything. I could also hear someone in a neighbouring room on the phone - I could hear every word they said. I will not be staying here again.

We had a very lovely stay at the Devoncourt Resort, the rooms are very comfortable, staff were very friendly and very helpful and pleasant, we had a delicious cooked breakfast, the indoor pool was very good and the outdoor pool was amazing , overall could not fault this hotel

Highly recommended
This is an excellent hotel. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were nice and helpful. Dinner was OK, breakfast was great. There is a fitness room and an indoor pool with warm water. The lawns and gardens are beautiful, with palm trees, a putting green and croquet course (equipment provided). I highly recommend this place.

All staff from reception,bar restaurants and domestic staff very polite. Decoration is dated but didn’t affect our stay. Lovely view over the extensive gardens extending to the sea. Breakfast self serve ,plenty of choice. We had a theatre trip just a fifteen minute walk to the theatre and the beach. The outdoor pool was cool on entry but we soon acclimatised. We would use this hotel again.

Great family holiday
Lovely place to stay. Really good facilities and very friendly staff. Condition inside the hotel is a little worn and dated, but this adds to the charm. Great place for a family holiday and we will return.

An amazing hotel . Typified by outstanding staff right from a warm and helpful greeting at reception , to the great barman and the helpful guy serving breakfast . We didn’t know what to expect , a last minute booking but we will be back . Large room , exceptionally clean and great facilities. This hotel has a sense of pride. Manager friendly and helpful and sets a good tone . Best hotel we have stayed in for a very long time . Brilliant breakfast , locally sourced . We will be back ! Do please stay here i will not be disappointed!

Great stay
Our stay was excellent. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Yes, the hotel is a little dated, but that adds to it's charm. The room was spacious, warm and comfortable. The restaurant served well cooked, hot food at breakfast. We ate in the restaurant one night and again the servand food was excellent.

We waited at the desk to check in for a while despite trying to get the attention of somebody in the office area. A member of staff came in from outside and asked if we were being helped and then checked us in. The heaters/air conditioning unit over the hotel entrance could clearly be heard in our room and kept my partner awake for much of the evening, at least we believe this was the cause. The room was comfortable and the breakfast very nice.

The hotel needs completely modernising but the excellent staff and customer service totally made up for the for the 1980s throwback condition of the hotel and I would stay there again.

The staff were all a great credit to you. The hotel is old and it shows but room spacious. Grounds lovely. Parking is tricky and not easy to use as spaces are designed for minis. Breakfast was very good well presented and cooked. Enjoyed my stay here and use of the pool.
