Decent hotel near outlet mall

Everything in the room was functional, water was hot, good water pressure. Beds were better than expected. Room has definitely seen a lot of use and feels like it needs a good cleaning. But for a relatively inexpensive place to stay, it worked.

Mildew smell

The room reeked of a mildew and chemical smell. Simply awefull. if it hadn't been so late at night when we arrived I would have either insisted on another room or left. This is the second time I have experienced this problem at this facility. I will not return. I would rather pitch a tent.

Everything was falling apart. Table broken, no towel rack, no toilet paper holder. Carpet looks like it been while since it's been cleaned. However. We were thrilled to find a place that would allow pets during the hurricane. Parking was a bit limited as well.

disappointing

Pros: It is very quiet and convenient
Cons: safety, security, repair door frames and deadbolts
We have stayed here many times over the years, but this motel has clearly declined since our previous visit. Our first room stank of cigarette smoke. Room #2 had an unmade bed and the AC was torn apart. The third room was missing something... the bed runner, a towel rack, towels, blow dryer, and even the smoke detector. We were told that they have had a problem with theft. Speaking of theft, the deadbolt would not latch and there was evidence that the door had been pried open- bent around the frame and the deadbolt repair did not match up and could not be bolted. Noticed several other doors showed similar damage and pry marks. Unfortunately there are few other choices for accommodations. It is unfortunate to see a place that was once a nice place to stay in a state of decline.

Pros: Very nice do what ever I needed done
Cons: That the maids I'd understand
Location: The outlet mall is close
The people were very nice. and would do anything that we needed.

Disappointed and Stuck with it

The room was not clean. They did not have an alternative room. Prepaid so we had little choice. The vent was falling out of the bathroom ceiling; the toilet paper dispenser also was falling out of the wall opening; the tub had some crusty yellow film over about half of it; there was hair and debris on the bathroom floor; stains a d dirt on the walls and doors. For the 2 days we were there, we saw the cleaning crew but never once saw or heard a vacuum cleaner being used. So we bought flip flops to take a shower, and walk around in the room.

A weekend at Dawsonville Hotel.

It took three rooms before we got one that was right. The first had no a/c knobs and was a smoking room. I have a lung disease and can not stay in smoking rooms, the second was under renovation. The cable was not hooked up to the tv and the lamps had no shades and there was no smoke detector. The third one was the charm. I think they were under renovation in some of the rooms and did not note the rooms in the computer so the attendant had no idea. When I went to check out she charged me for the two rooms I had booked from Hotel.etc. She did give me credit but did not know how to fix the situation. When we arrived home on Sunday night the manager of the hotel was on the phone to tell us it had been corrected. Will see when we get a credit card statement.
