I stayed at Hotel Frangos during the New Year period. The hotel is situated close to all shops, restaurants and amenities of Daylesford. Upon arrival, the staff at the reception quickly got us checked into the Monroe room. This particular room features a circular bed with a mirror above the bed. I felt the bed was very comfortable and woke up well rested the following morning The bathroom has an excellent spa bath, however, does have glass doors which limits privacy. This may be something to be mindful, it’s definitely more suited to couples. The complimentary Wi-Fi at the hotel was fast and reliable, which was excellent for staying in touch with friends and family as we didn’t have phone reception in Daylesford. Some of the rooms could use some extra care, as I saw some signs of peeling paint. I hope that the owner could put some funds into maintenance.

I scraped my bumper on car park entry, the male toilet is a disgrace, cubicle light not working, graffiti on te door, items mived with wall not patched, no cable tv, no one on reception, noone in the restaurant or bar, i cant stand ordering via the app, creates zero relationship with the paying customer, carpet needs replacing, worn and stained.

Property was fine how ever the round bed reminised to that of sleeping on a netball. For the sum of 560$ and to not have any linen was extremely poor.

We don’t allocate rooms at our discretion, rather guests stay in the particular room they book. Great location with much potential. Unloved and poorly maintained. Staff are nonchalant, premises dirty. I get shabby chic and then there is no one gives a continental. Greated by smell of stale grease at guest entrance and signs of neglect. Glad we didn't buy the package, because I wouldn't eat here. Shower water pressure poor, mirror shelf bent and power points worn out. TV ~ 10 years old. 2 night stay and bedroom not serviced. Disappointing as it has or had so much potential.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Frangos! They were very accomodating with helping me check-in before my event in Daylesford. The room was beautiful with lovely ammenities and a huge luxurious bathroom. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay right in the heart of Daylesford!

Walked into a room full of flies, so we spent the first 45mins shooing them out! Food was mediocre - steak was mostly fat and overcooked, placed onto of fries. Service was very random... we had the bartender serve us, and then a server who was serving in the back beer garden serve us... no one really knew want was going on. We checked out a day earlier. Do not recommend.

2 Star masquerading as 4
2 star hotel advertised as 4 stars. By far the WORST hotel I’ve ever encountered. Arrived to what looked to be a make shift reception, staff looked drunk with terrible body odour. Followed by not being able to find my booking, then not having any keys left. After waiting 30 minutes I was let in my room and told to wait there and someone would bring keys to me. The room was filthy with dead flies on the bed and a bunch more buzzing around the room, and nobody ever came with the keys. I went back to reception to ask for the keys, then a different man finally got the room the keys. But before handing them to me he sneezed then rubbed his mouth/nose and gave me the keys with the same hand. I was absolutely disgusted and left the hotel in the same moment. I didn’t even bother to engage for a refund - just an absolute disgrace.

Perhaps in reflection you’d reconsider your comments after realising our team were under extreme duress after we were inundated with guests who had come to dine with us immediately after a serious accident in Daylesford, with multiple fatalities and serious injuries. Great room - clean and comfortable bed bathroom was huge - close to shopping area and walkable distance to our dinning experience. Found the alcohol to be on the expensive would be my only complaint - service was great.

The room was lovely however, it was in need of some basic maintenance cracks in the walls, peeling paint. There was a lot of noise early in the morning, could hear a vacuum cleaner, lots of loud voices & generally people walking around. It was very conveniently located and a lovely hotel, would be keen to visit again in the summer months. Very nice location.

Elegant modern decor and architecture. Very quiet and private. Comfortable bed. Superb cafe with the best coffee and food.. Delightful staff. Choice of bar or restaurant also.

The room we had was tired, needs a paint and a spruce up. Bathroom not cleaned well. Black mold in the bathroom. Dirty and water stained walls with cracked and flaking paint. Bed was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and the food is great.

Noisy at night as the hotel is on a busy intersection, our room was above a kitchen so we could hear cleaning up. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. Bathroom outdated.

This hotel is not the standard that the pictures depict. In the photos our room should have had a pod coffee machine (Walnut Room 8), it did NOT. The velour headboard was covered in dust and hadn’t been cleaned for months, the same with all of the shirting boards and carpet by the bedsides. None of the HD tv channels worked, the tv was that old. The shower one side had black mould. We arrived 30 minutes before check to be greeted by a rude male staff member who told us in no uncertain terms checkin was 3pm, even though the room was ready. The hotel failed to service our room and we had to locate staff for fresh towels and more toiletries. In summary avoid this hotel like the plague. Definitely not worth the star rating. We will not return.

Gorgeous boutique hotel. Lovely double shower in the bathroom, the COMFIEST bed I’ve ever had in a hotel. Easy to climate control with heating and cooling, so had a great night’s sleep.

The room was spacious, modern and very clean. the only negatives were it was awkward to carry luggage up the many stairs (but the Receptionist helped) and the cups in the room were tiny expresso ones and I drink tea. The bed was comfortable which is very important. The location is excellent and you don't need to leave the building to eat your meals.Great base for exploring the township.

Only downfall- we didn't have a Do Not Disturb door sign, so we were awkwardly surprised at 9am on Sunday morning when the cleaner was accessing the room.... oops!

Very disappointed overall. Bathroom was filthy, spoke to management and was told it would be cleaned and wasn’t. Had to shower with thongs on and could not walk barefoot on bathroom floor it was so dirty. Was told management I spoke to would be in touch later and no contact at all. Bed was two singles pushed together which was not the most comfortable. Disappointing considering what we paid.

The bathroom you a referring to has mocha travertine tiles, which have colour and texture variance in their finish. All of our bathrooms have the same travertine tiles, and are also cleaned and sanitised after each guest departs.Our housekeeping team attended at your request to ensure the bathroom floor was clean, and found no evidence of the alleged issue. Furthermore the bathroom was inspected by our management team who also found the floor to be clean.We have contacted you via email to explain this, and note your threat to post a review online and speak widely of experience. It is disappointing that you have chosen to post a misleading review on this occasion, without stating all the facts

The property is fairly run down for the price, and typical of what you’d expect from a 3 star hotel. The bathroom was nice, but the bed was old and terribly soft and uncomfortable. We both had a pretty rough nights sleep due to the bed and noise from other guests. The location of the hotel is the biggest bonus, placed at the top of the Main Street with everything within walking distance. We had a nice time, but we wouldn’t stay again as the hotel is in need of a lot of work and isn’t very clean.

Hotel Frangos is very convenient hotel to stay right in the centre of the town. Restaurants/bar downstairs. Would definitely stay here again. She is an old property, so do expect some creaking of the floorboards

Lovely hotel with a Tuscan feel. Rooms are very spacious with very tasteful decoration. Very central location.

Reasonably priced and friendly staff. The room was clean, mostly, apart from a big clump of hair on the shower base. The TV didn’t work despite attempted help from management. There was clearly some water issues as pumps were working to draw water from the lower levels, sadly, this meant we had to walk through a puddly of water to get to our room. Despite these issues the room itself was comfortable. It would have been helpful to have had some user books for tv etc
