Room 227 smelled strongly like cigarette smoke, the smoke detector is disabled, the phone weirdly had buttons missing, the channel selection on the TV is basic, the towel holder by the sink was damaged (the third photo), and the room’s AC/heating unit needs thoroughly cleaned. I didn’t bring these issues to the front desk as I just wanted to go to sleep.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows were serviceable, all of the outlets and lamps worked, the refrigerator worked.
The other guests are, for me, an annoyance as well. When I was checking in, two different black guys cut in line and were disrespectful to me and to the overworked employee behind the desk. One came in saying “I need muh change!” over and over even though the poor employee was already with a guest. The other guy came in complaining about the number of beds in his room and thought he could go to the front of the line because he had already checked in. The employee apologized to me when they were gone, but it’s clear that this hotel has a lot of these self-centered people who just weren’t raised right. Heck, when I got there, the employee was one the phone with a guest who was complaining about the people in the room next door. I made sure to get all of my possessions and my change out of my car.
