Pros: First time staying in a Hawthorn Suite was surprised it had a fireplace. It would be enjoyable on a fall evening.
Cons: Basically, the rooms needs an upgrade. I believe it is in progress. I would consider staying there again.
Location: Close to I 75 easy to find after exiting. Hollywood gaming is close, next exit. Several restaurants near the exit.
It was late when I arrived. Parking was a problem. However some spaces were occupied by a construction container. So I would assume usually it would be okay. Upon my departure I asked it they were fixing units. Good to hear they are doing some remodeling. The facility was adequate, but upgrades were needed. Did not make it to the breakfast, but the area was nice and could seat quite a few people. Staff was pleasant.

The water never got hot for showers. The place could use some updating.

The room was clean and spacious. The food for breakfast was good. The staff were engaging and effiecient.

Hawthorne Inn and Suites Dayton North

Bathroom floor was dirty and had a terrible oder. Caulk around the tub had significant mold and was cracking. Room had a dirty fireplace and one of the doors fell off in the middle of the night.

Don't waste your time or money

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything. Cleaning would be a good start.
Pictures are deceiving online. Rooms are dirty, and despite booking a non-smoking room, smelled like cigarettes. DIRTY linens on the bed and pillows, no trash cans, dirt and food on floor and just overall a dingy, gross room. Trash and liter all over the outdoor grounds as well. If we wouldn't have been on a budget and such a short time frame to grab a few hours of sleep I would have left! So gross and disgusting.

Pros: Having the convenience of having a fridge and freezer
Cons: Only one glass
Arrived late and transferred food from our cooler to the fridge/freezer. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was spacious

My wife booked this hotel for me while I drove across the country. Its a dump. very dark, in what didn't feel like a great part of town. the staff was friendly, but that was the only bright spot. the door jam of my room had been kicked in at some point and the throw over lock was simply moved down. the trim had been ripped apart. the shower never got hot. the mirror never even steamed up. it was a little warmer the next morning, but not acceptable. the bed was uncomfortable (coil mattress. I could feel the coils). the wood frame construction might be charming to look at, but every movement in the building could be heard with creaking beams. there were people yelling in the parking lot until at least 1AM. overall a terrible experience.

TLC Needed

Had new carpet but the seems were 2" apart. Doors were too small for the doors frames; could see straight into the bathroom with door closed. Dirt in corners and along walls. Hair and yellow spots in tub. Metal shardes poking through carpet like it was spread from vaccume. Sofa sleeper filled with crumbs.
