The guy who came late in the night to check us in was very nice. Great guy. However, I felt like I was staying in down town portland, I was scared to sleep in the he'd or walk around barefoot. There was a couple moving their belongings from one room across the parking lot to another room all night long. They were living at the motel. Which isn't an issue, it was the moving of their stuff all night long, right by our door and window. We slept and left. The smell is musty and stale. We were the only temporary visitors, the 2 or 3 other rooms occupied were permanent tenants. I looked at getting a room at the best western up the street, as I waited for the receptionist to show up to check us in. I wish I would have. However, I didnt get any bug bites so, unscathed we came out.

Room was clean, updated, and generally quiet. Staff had great restaurant recommendations and the evening cookies in the lobby shouldn’t be missed. Location was great very walkable to restaurants, shopping and Safeway. A couple notes regarding our second floor room (3 floor bldg): 1) Shortest toilet we have seen outside a daycare center (a squatty potty?) 2) One of the tallest, unadjustable shower heads we have seen 3) Breakfast buffet was disappointing and omelettes okay but very slow. Coffee was only warm all 3 mornings. Opted out of breakfast for a protein bar on day 3. 4) TV reception poor! Staff reset our TV night one and said sometimes internet is slow when heavily used. TV would work and then black screen and then forced to change cha channels or wait. A bit frustrating 5) Our 3rd floor neighbors were very noisy heavy walkers. Moved furniture around at night. Maybe a family or part of the baseball team staying in the hotel. Made the evening and morning noisy. We would stay here again but would request a 3rd floor room and would hope all the kids/ teams are on the first floor near the pool.

Always the best place to stay in Dayton for the Car Show!

Had an issue with one of the staff, his name is Juan and when arriving to check-in, he was nowhere to be found. There was a sign on the desk thanking for patience as they will be gone momentarily, but after 15 minutes, we called the number for urgent response. Juan answered in a groggy voice and said he would be right there. Juan came out of a door near-by the check-in/out desk all disheveled with hair and name tag out of place, and checked us in without further delay. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel for the three night stay.

Nice place, thoughtfully updated. Friendly staff.
