Great hotel on the beach

We have stayed here before, but this time the hotel is undergoing a facelift so not everything was open. I thought it odd to be remodeling in the summer at a beach hotel. Our rooms were "upgraded" when we arrived, but I wanted the room I booked. It took a manager to get me back to what I had paid for, but it did get resolved. I prepaid for a room type and when I got there they were "sold out" of that type of room. If I prepaid for it how can it be sold out??? After complaining to several people including a manager they miraculously found a room available for me. They said they thought they were doing me a favor by upgrading my room. Believe me, the new room was no upgrade over what I prepaid for. The stay was great. I live the hotel and it's location. Everything was good except for the last night. The hotel was overrun by a religious conference for kids. There were teenagers everywhere...all night long running up and down hallways and slamming doors.

Daughter's Graduation / Very Disappointing!

Pros: We booked this hotel because of its close proximity to The Daytona Ocean Center, literally across the street..
Cons: Overall customer service, attention to their needs and an expeditious response to crucial attention..
Location: Right on the beach, however literally next door to a run down amusement park, lots of homeless / panhandling..
Expedia ranks this as a 4 star hotel, which many years ago it may have been. Our toilet did not work for almost 2 days, so we were forced to utilize the shower for restroom needs. Maintenance determined a cartridge for the power assist needed to be changed, mind you it didn't work by the time we checked out. Dinner for 12 literally took over 3hrs at Legends restaurant, the entire party was served at different times so none ate together. Hotel just seemed out-dated and under managed maintenance speaking... Mirror in gym broken, window in gym also. Wallpaper coming off wall. Sliding door to balcony latch broken, hanging on with one screw. Kiddie pool area not safe with broken plastic edging. Dusty wall-plates / 4 stars rating on Expedia remember. Worst part it I found out because I booked through Expedia, the hotel refuses to talk compensation. I have contacted Expedia about a guarantee on their end....waiting for their answer!

Not a huge fan of the Hyde park restaurant for the money but it was ok. Hotel was good!

Beautiful hotel right on the beach.

Pros: On the beach. Friendly , helpful staff.
Cons: Bigger space with more machines/weights for the fitness area. It's a hotel fitness area so no real complaints . Seriously not a deal and me just being
Great times with an excellent staff. The only blip was asking for a mini fridge . Waiting an hour for it then asking a cleaning lady and blam it was there 5 minutes later. Remember people tip your cleaning ladies. Two great restaurants in the hotel and a decent bar.

the hotel is located in the perfect location

Location: GREAT LOCATION!!!!
BEWARE OF THE UNEXPECTED FEES LIKE THE PARKING $20 VALET AND $17 SELF PARKING. ALSO THE CARD THAT THEY WILL GIVE YOU AT THE RECEPTION (at first they will say its complementary but before you check out you will find $15 a day for that discount card- and they will say you will have to pay for it if you use it or not). Honestly everything about the hotel is great. locate right on the beach and a lot of restaurants inside and outside the hotel, there is also a movie theater around the corner, Starbucks inside the hotel . EXCEPT THAT DISCOUNT CARD THAT THEY LIED ABOUT AND NO FREE PARKING.

Overall good experience

We went there for brunch on Mother's day. All the breakfast restaurants were a little confused, because they were having brunch in a ball room upstairs. The regular buffet is open, no it's closed..... Overall the hotel was a business traveller quality hotel.

Hotel conditions

Pros: We liked the location and the services provided. Also we liked the convenience to access the beach and the valet parking.
Cons: It would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room.
Location: There were a lot of restaurants at walking distance and the Ocean Center was across the road.
The location of the hotel was excellent. The room was clean however, the bathroom had some rust. There were no refrigerator in the room which I expected for such a high rating hotel. Overall the service was good and we chose the hotel mainly for the location.

The hotel may have been a beautiful place once and they are making improvements. We wish we had known that before we had booked the reservation. On another note, we quickly learned that being an Expedia customer was of no benefit to get a coupon for breakfast, points for staying there, etc. ...Almost felt like a second-class citizen

Close to everything we needed

Everything was good EXCEPT we asked for a micro fridge and the staff brought it up However he did not tell us it was on freeze temp so EVERYTHING got frozen and so we had to throw all of our expensive cheeses away as well as all of our fruits my Birthday cake it was all ruined !
