Fabulous vacation. We would go back again for sure. We met people who have been going there for 15 years. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hot tub was great and kept clean. The breakfast was satisfying too. We will return again.

great fun very comfortable atmosphere I am going back next year for amonth and plan on staying the whole time at Makai

Long walk from elevator. Only 1 elevator. Hard with handicap person. However room was decent. Clean. Staff was wonderful.

Didn't get a change of sheets the entire time we stayed (6 nights) even after asking. Toilet broke the second day and that never got fixed

Not worth it

OLD motel, not worth it. The pics online make it look way better. The room was clean enough, but the beds were horrible, the walls were paper thin, and the rooms were dim at best. Cheap option... but I'd spring for something a little better. Won't be staying here again.

Very disappointed mold under cabinets whiskey bottles on top of cabinet dirty window seals dirt under beds

on the beach

Hotel is outdated. Our room patio door very hard to slide, the blinds didn't work properly. There was an adjoining door to the room next to ours and it was the kitchen in the room next to us. It was very noisy if the people were in the kitchen. There were animals allowed, so there are dogs barking!! Overall the hotel needs repairs. Reason it is cheaper!!! But our beach side room was a nice ocean view!!

One night beach break

Arrived with faithful companion corgi as resort is pet friendly. Checked into a beautiful room only to receive a call from the front desk. Telling me there had been a complaint about my dog barking. I then went out on the balcony and was greeted by my neighbors on the next-door balcony saying shut that dog up even though he was only greeting them. I called the front desk and was immediately upgraded to an oceanfront room. The staff responded professionally and promptly. While I appreciated the upgrade, the room actually was less accommodating than the first. However, we had a peaceful stay and I would highly recommend this resort.

Beachfront,but,dirty

Pros: Staff was accomodating enough and it was beachfront.
Cons: More parking. Patrolling of the smokers and remodeling of the kitchens.
Location: All of that was as expected in a beachfront motel.
Good location,but,dirty and although a smoke free hotel supposedly, they allowed smoking everywhere. In the Pool,by the breakfast bar and all common areas. Not enough parking spaces,so you had to park next door 2 out of the 3 days we were there.
