vacation in Florida

I was traveling down through Florida and was looking for 1 nite stay in palm coast area. after checking around i saw microtel and couple other ones were available. after driving around and checking out the hotels i liked microtel the best suit. The price wasn't bad and the rooms were clean. If ur ever traveling and looking a place to stay i recommend microtel in palm coast.

NOISY!!!

Pros: The receptionist was nice.
Cons: It needs to be painted and updated in all ways.
Location: It was just an overnight stopfor us.
It is my understanding that discounted rooms are usually at the end of the hallways. Our room was such plus handicapped. That was not the problem. There was a wedding nearby and the guests stayed there. There rooms were also down that same hallway. Between 11:00 and midnight the noise was unbearably loud; in the rooms and in the hallways. Knowing that there was a wedding, I feel that we should never have been in the same area. Just how difficult would it have been to put us away from the wedding group? We will not stay there again!

Reasonable rates no ambiance

Pros: Clean rooms, price was right.
Cons: Food needs improvement. Make sure there is no way to pull fake fire alarm.
Location: Located near a cluster of other reasonably priced hotels and convenient to get to nearby major streets.
Many of the people staying at the hotel were day laborers working in the nearby Palm Coast area which is fine because the hotel wants to fill their rooms, but there were many people smoking outside in the parking lot at all hours. Breakfast food only fair although they never ran out. Rooms clean, mattresses were okay, not great. Desk staff was courteous. The fire alarm went off at 12:30 am but someone pulled it either accidentally or for a prank.

very basic

Pros: Cost
Cons: Smell in hall and room. An armchair or loveseat or something to sit on. Better signage for hotel.
When going to room there was a very strong odor in the hall and even stronger in the room. After opening the window and 4 hours it got better. Think it was cleaning fluids used but overpowering. Room is bigger than other Microtels but only one small side chair to sit on. Bed was ok. Noise of banging door going to downstairs was constant. Breakfast exceded expectations for Microtel. One more problem, there is no sign on the main street pointing in to hotel location on another street. Other chains have a sign but not Microtel. Wont be back.

Staff tried to help, but...

Location: The location was great and you're a lot of the stores.
Air conditioner units did not work. Switched rooms twice. After switching rooms the second time, found a diabetic testing strips at the end of the bed where I had been sleeping. The staff did try to help, but we checked out early and I would not recommend this hotel. They did tell us they recently had a company come in to work on the air conditioner units, but that company damage to the units and they got wet and hasn't worked the same since.

Convenient location

The outside and lobby area of the hotel looks nice however I was totally disppointed with our room. The bathroom was not clean...tub faucet had mold around it...the toilet seat looked awful, as if someone poured acid on it because the enamel had peeled off and on the inside of the toilet bowl there was a small ring around it because it had not been cleaned. I asked 1 of the hotel workers for towels and she responded as if they were hard to come by; She never gave us towels. I ended up going to the front desk and getting them myself. I will not stay here again. The front desk clerks were nice and the guy over the continental breakfast area was very kind.

Nice ......close to I95.......reasonable price

Pros: Price and friendliness of the staff
Cons: I could use some updating and I was not crazy about the colors in the halls....makes it look tacky in my estimation
Location: Right off I 95 close to Daytona and St. Augustine Florida the oldest city in the USA.....
Hotel is nice....desk clerk is very nice and efficient......continental breakfast leaves something to be desired but the hotel is next to a Cracker Barrel so that is handy.....a good value for the money...I have stayed there several times before and I keep returning so they are doing something right

Caring Staff Goes the Extra Mile

I stayed at this hotel while in Florida for a Spartan Race. The staff prepared breakfast an hour and a half early because they knew that there were a lot of racers staying at the hotel. Further, they left breakfast out later for those that were going to either be arriving back from the race in the mid morning or heading to the race for the afternoon. This staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone there had a pleasant experience. I'll be staying here again in June.
