Avoid if possible

Pros: The views were really nice.
Cons: More compassion for your guests. Improve on the food quality in restaurant. This is just my opinion but several other people were also complaining.
Location: Joe's Crab shack is good- Nice to have IHOP across the street as well.
Despite the construction going on, there were hairs on the bathroom floor, we had to call several times for clean linen, the food was horrible in the restaurant and the so called "free hor d oeuvres" for the construction inconvenience were horrible (stale carrots, broccoli and cheese and cold pigs in a blanket) Also while we were there a large piece of metal fell off the roof over by the pool area. I would NOT stay here if you don't have to. There are plenty of other SAFER, CLEANER places to stay. Also, Pool bar didn't open till afternoon on several occasions while we were there.

We apologize that the quality of the food and lack of housekeeping that was not on point. The executive chef and the Food and Beverage Director have been made aware and will get with their staff. Also the Executive housekeeper has also been made aware of your comment. We do have construction going on, currently a new roof is being put on the building. I have made the head engineer aware of your comment so he may speak with the contractors. Once again we apologize for the issues you encountered and hope that you will give us another try when all the construction is completed.

Hotel close to everything

The Plaza Resort and Spa was very nice and right on the main strip with ocean front rooms. The front desk staff were not friendly and didn't offer assistance to Daytona airport or any tourist attractions. Also there was construction going on everyday during the week. The facilities were nice and we enjoyed the pool area.

close to beach

Pros: The view of the ocean and Pool
Cons: Don't call a room that overlooks a tarred roof a river view! Call it what it is, the ROOF TOP VIEW! Only
Construction going on, so you can imagine! It was ok, Probably not go back again

Did not receive housekeeping all week my husband had to go down to the desk and ask for towels... when we checked in they explain how they were under construction but still put us in a room right beside all the balcony’s they were working it was so loud we couldn’t even walk into our room until 6 or 7 at night you can’t tell me out of the 14 floors they have they couldn’t move us away from where all the construction was I actually record several videos of the noise and the disaster they put us RIGHT beside and will be loading it to social media to let everyone know not to stay here!!!! Breakfast was cold and disgusting overall we booked a peaceful vacation in Daytona but because of the noise mess and distruption we spent more time driving into ormand beach!!!

Convenient location to convention centet

Hotel was still under construction doing repairs from hurricanes. But staff was extremely helpful.

Excellent Staff at under construction hotel

Pro: The staff was very friendly and did their best to make my stay pleasant. Cons: When I arrived, my room was not ready. An hour and a half later, it still wasn't ready, so I was given another room. The hotel is under construction. Work was going on in the room(s) above me. There were workers on window washer type lifts going up and down outside my balcony and drills and hammers going at 9am on weekdays. Some maintenance appears to be overlooked - ceiling tiles were falling down and there was a silverfish in my bathtub. Overall: Once the construction is finished, this should be a very nice hotel. While it is under construction, the staff is doing their best to make up for the construction inconveniences.

Pros: on the beach, close to the band shell and shops
Cons: elevators! free breakfast
it was spring break, and cheer competition, very crowded, which I expected. but they were not prepared. my room that I had paid for months in advance was not ready. I waited for an hour and a half before I got my key. there was construction going on at the hotel that I wasn't notified about. (they were hit by hurricane Matthew) I'll give them that but they could have let me know. and the elevators were HORRIBLY slow! had to wait longer than 5 min. a number of times. the hand rail leading to the beach was wobbly and loose. also, the room I was given was not the one I had looked at on line, the bedroom was suppose to be private, it was not. there was very little parking due to the construction taking up the upper half of the garage.

Close to boardwalk

Was only there for one night and it was cold and windy! We didn't get to use the pool or take advantage of any amenities and actually checked out early. The hotel staff was able to check us in early though and was always friendly.

Classic beach hotel - watch for maintenance

Pros: Location! Heated pool (with some toys around) with plenty of towels, and right right on the beach. Staff was helpful.
Cons: Elevator service, notification on website about construction.
Location: Beach, short walk to boardwalk. Swim in the pool.
The hotel itself is old, and feels it, but the location is excellent. Unfortunately, old hotels require a lot of maintenance which means noise. They were jackhammering some of the balconies and apparently using two of the three elevators for construction so there was a constant wait. But: great (heated) pool, right on the beach, fire pit, free valet, and helpful staff. While I didn't mind the elevator waits, some other guests were obviously upset. Since you're going to the beach, hopefully you aren't spending too much time going to your room anyway.

We are doing hurricane recovery construction which includes repairing balconies, painting the exterior, new roof, Fiber Optic WiFi with 1 gig of bandwidth, new comforters, pillows and caret in the guest rooms plus a new oceanfront bar & grille. We hope you will revisit us once all of our renovations are completed.

Not the best address

We arrived at the hotel at 2pm. To early for check in(((. Lady on the reception told to call us when the room will be available. No call till 4pm. After several discussions with staf, we finally got a room at 4:30. This is not a good service, especially when you are traveling with a baby. At least the room was not bad. Elevators are very slow. I would not recommend to stay hier to my friends.
