The hotel canceled on me before my trip and never reimbursed me. Sad to know they have hurricane damage but you can’t just take people’s money without providing a service. They sent me this message, “Hello Expedia Traveler, It is with sadness that we alert you the Plaza Resort and Spa has sustained significant damage from Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole. We have been informed the Resort will not be open in time for your visit to Daytona Beach. Your reservation has been cancelled and you will be fully refunded within 5-7 business days. We thank you for your understanding during this very difficult time for our former staff and our regular guests. We hope to be open in a year and hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back. Thank you, Plaza Resort & Spa” but I didn’t get a reimbursement 4 weeks later. Don’t risk your money.

I’m sure this was a nice place. But the fact that THEY CANCELED a week before we were suppose to stay is extremely unprofessional. I absolutely understand that the hurricane damage was significant. I saw it. Definitely should have listened to the reviews. After being told I would be fully refunded, I’m now waiting for Expedia to get in touch with the hotel…. Who is not/will not get back to anyone. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Unless you want the headache of having to screen shot all your conversations and emails to force them to give you your refund. Best of luck if you book here…

Terrible experience
Rooms and corridors were smelling of stale air and fungus . There were rooted carpets and furniture outside our room . Smell was so bad. I couldnot sleep . I had to check out in middle of night at 3am. It was so bad. It was bad recommendations by hotel.com. Seems I have been robbed with my money

My husband and I had a great time here! We were concerned about visiting after Hurricane Ian, but it’s really amazing how quickly they had things up and running again. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Some amenities were missing, but that was understandable considering the devastation Daytona had been thru the week before. The views were outstanding, the spa was lovely, and the pool was sparkling clean. Well done!

We’ve stayed at this hotel countless times and always enjoy the property overall. The rooms are extremely outdated and there was a lot of wear and tear. It didn’t feel like a clean room at all. The carpet in our room was ripped up and the bathroom had dirt on the baseboards. Also, we had to pay $200 more than expected. Our Expedia quote did not line up with the correct hotel fees. Unfortunately due to drastic price difference we will not book through Expedia again.

Beware hidden fees & Dirty Stay
First and foremost arrived to the hotel front desk clerk by the name of Quay looked at me strange as if i didn't belong there and just stared i said i was there to check in he just walked off to the other side of the desk. Proceeded to just say nothing, i asked him do i need to come to the other side he stated yes! I walked over and asked him how was his day he stated his day was great but In a condescending tone and i said guess you're ready to go home and he was like Nope! Very short so at that point i just stopped trying to even conversate at that point. Not friendly at all and he let me know he wasn't trying to do nothing more than to check me in. The rest of the staff in passing I said hello no response. So that set a real crappy mood for my stay. The elevators take way too long and they're about the size of a coffin which if someone had covid I'm sure u would get it from the small elevator.The rooms smell like old wet water carpets need to be replaced, the small refrigerators in both rooms i had for my family were dirty and a small piece of food or something brown was on the side on the floor which my 1.5 year old grandchildren could've picked up and ate. The bathroom door in 914 and 923 was old and falling apart wood peeling up,only to be painted over dirty used washcloth on the floor in front of my front door upon arrival. I'm 6 ft tall my knees almost touched the tube from the toilet so small. Sandy beds in 923 no silverware or dishes i have more to no space left

The over all experience was really great. The staff were super friendly and the Resort was kept clean. The only negative thing I feel needs to be addressed is the size of the bathroom. It is small.

We enjoyed how close it is to the boardwalk and within walking distance of things. The room itself was lacking. The bathroom was smaller than expected and the balcony door did not lock. Also, the pool bar was closed on one of the nicest days while there was no one working the bar inside.

Careful wording to be added!
Charges for the incidental things was no ware made clear not on website explaining at front desk when I checked my account I was kinda shocked! I get there has to be a charge but some one needs to tell a person or wording should be different! That was our complaint for the visit! This was not my first visit there either!! Put a little sour note !

Pricey add ONS, we asked for rooms to be next to each other we were two floors apart. There was a roach in my bathroom when I first got there I figure it's Florida it happens I did not see any more but it was still gross. The best thing was the fact that our room was a corner room so it was roomy compared to the others. They used to give you a free drink coupon for a happy hour they don't do that anymore. My best thing about this day was the DJ and the pool and the french fries the bar drinks were very pricey. However the bartender and the chef there were awesome.
