Our room, 1703, needed to be refurbished. The room when we walked in smelled like years of smokers stayed int he room. The phone was not even plugged in to call the front desk about our toilet constantly running and we had to chat the front desk via the text to get them to fix. The engineer did come up pretty quick and was very nice, but the toilet flushing handle was old and did start to run again so because of the feedback from the engineer we were able to fix ourselves but this should not have had to happen.
The air conditioning didn't work really well either, we had to press the buttons really hard to get to lower.
We felt the hotel room was fairly common quality for a beach hotel but then we saw our friends hotel room in the south tower and realized ours was WAY OVERDUE for a refurb. really disappointed for the price we paid.
The check in process took a really long time, probably 5 mins, the person who checked us in was not super friendly, she took a while to even acknowledge me and then the process took forever. When we asked a question about being blocked close to our friends she was not accommodating and did not explain that since we booked through a different site that we were not able to be blocked close.
