DO NOT STAY if you are going for the beach
Posted Jan 8, 2017
We travelled thousands of miles because we wanted to swim and float in the Dead Sea, and specifically chose this hotel because it advertises a beach. This hotel also has a promenade that allows you to see the beaches for Amman Beach Dead Sea and the Dead Sea Spa Hotel. When we stayed here we went down to the beach and swam for five minutes before four lifeguards cleared the water of the 15-20 people swimming saying the waves were too big. This was crazy – I included a picture of the ‘waves’ that were no more than six inches in height that they considered dangerous. Mind you, they won’t let you go out where it is more than five feet deep anyway, so it is clearly not a dangerous situation. The next day, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. Every time you report this to the hotel, they say it is for everyone’s safety. Each time I showed them the picture to show how ridiculous this comment is. And each time from the promenade you can see guests from the Dead Sea Spa Hotel and the Amman Beach Dead Sea happily swimming in the water.
If you are going to the area to swim in the Dead Sea, choose another one of the many hotels who actually allow their guests to swim in the Dead Sea. We literally flew thousands of miles to do this and were extremely disappointed in our stay.

Dear Mr. Scott,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay. While we wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it is apparently in this case that we fell short.
The Dead Sea is different than any other sea, due to the high concentration of salts and minerals which makes it easy to float and difficult to swim. It can get really rough if the weather gets windy and waves are high indeed. In this time of the year the weather is not stable, which force us to take extra precaution measures to guarantee the safety of our guests.
During the day, you tried to swim however we had rough sea which makes swimming in the Dead Sea very dangerous. As a precaution, we advised our guests not to use the Dead Sea for their own safety and we offered our guests to swim at our SPA Dead Sea Pool instead.
Please accept our sincere apology and the action we took merely for the safety of our guests is paramount to the whole entire team. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future as we we always provide exceptional service to our valuable guests.
