Amazing stay!!

Posted Jan 16, 2017
This was the highlight of my stay! Unfortunately I only had one night here but managed to make the most of it. From check-in the staff were friendly, kind and helpful. I had a room with a water view and it was so tranquil and serene. In the afternoon I made a point to float in the sea even though it was December. Weather was perfect and so was the water temperature. I even indulged in trying the mud-my skin was so soft!! After that I thought why not treat myself to a spa visit. I indulged in a body scrub/wrap along with a facial. This was my first spa treatment in my life so I have nothing to compare, but after I posted a no-makeup selfie as my face/skin was radiant! To end the evening I had a drink at the bar and dinner. Everyone was so friendly all along the way. The rooms was comfy and large, breakfast had a large variety and the large Christmas tree in the lobby was a welcome site. Overall I would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel.

DO NOT STAY if you are going for the beach

Posted Jan 8, 2017
Cons: The lifeguards and beach rules.
We travelled thousands of miles because we wanted to swim and float in the Dead Sea, and specifically chose this hotel because it advertises a beach. This hotel also has a promenade that allows you to see the beaches for Amman Beach Dead Sea and the Dead Sea Spa Hotel. When we stayed here we went down to the beach and swam for five minutes before four lifeguards cleared the water of the 15-20 people swimming saying the waves were too big. This was crazy – I included a picture of the ‘waves’ that were no more than six inches in height that they considered dangerous. Mind you, they won’t let you go out where it is more than five feet deep anyway, so it is clearly not a dangerous situation. The next day, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. Every time you report this to the hotel, they say it is for everyone’s safety. Each time I showed them the picture to show how ridiculous this comment is. And each time from the promenade you can see guests from the Dead Sea Spa Hotel and the Amman Beach Dead Sea happily swimming in the water. If you are going to the area to swim in the Dead Sea, choose another one of the many hotels who actually allow their guests to swim in the Dead Sea. We literally flew thousands of miles to do this and were extremely disappointed in our stay.

Dear Mr. Scott, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay. While we wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it is apparently in this case that we fell short. The Dead Sea is different than any other sea, due to the high concentration of salts and minerals which makes it easy to float and difficult to swim. It can get really rough if the weather gets windy and waves are high indeed. In this time of the year the weather is not stable, which force us to take extra precaution measures to guarantee the safety of our guests. During the day, you tried to swim however we had rough sea which makes swimming in the Dead Sea very dangerous. As a precaution, we advised our guests not to use the Dead Sea for their own safety and we offered our guests to swim at our SPA Dead Sea Pool instead. Please accept our sincere apology and the action we took merely for the safety of our guests is paramount to the whole entire team. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future as we we always provide exceptional service to our valuable guests. Best Regards Davidson Joseph Executive Assistant Manager

My favorite Dead Sea hotel

Posted Jan 8, 2017
Pros: Huge outdoor pools. Great indoor pools in the Spa. Wide open beach covered in sand. Reasonable price.
Cons: Customer accounts are not open to add other charges: Paying at each restaurant is a pain.
Location: Hiking in Wadis. Samarah Mall with restaurants.
Eye pleasing pools. Huge property to stroll around.

Beautiful Dead Sea resort

Posted Nov 1, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: layout was beautiful, plenty of restaurant & activity options
Cons: closing time of pools, AC adjustment
Location: Mostly hotels, a few restaurants I think, but you won't need to leave the resort as they have everything there
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Crowne Plaza in Jordan. The resort itself is beautiful, with views of the many swimming pools and the Dead Sea beyond. They have several restaurants & bars, a gym, spa, and business center, and free wifi all over which is very helpful. We had a great time and would've loved to stay longer. My biggest complaint though was that the pools close so early, at sunset! We arrived a little later than planned and by the time we'd checked in, changed and immediately made our way down to the sea, it was closing. We came back up to the pools after our dip in the Dead Sea was thwarted, thinking to swim for a while, but we were told the pools were closing also. I can understand if they don't want anyone swimming in the sea after sunset due to liability reasons, but they should at least leave the hotel pools open for another couple hours. Even if they have a sign saying no lifeguard after sunset - swim at your own risk, or only allow adults after dark. I've never been to a nice resort where everything shuts down at 6pm. Our room was quite nice and had everything we needed, though there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling. One annoyance about the room is that we couldn't seem to adjust the temperature on the thermostat. If you open the patio door the AC shuts off, so we just left it cracked most of the time, except when under the warm comforter at night, because it was too chilly for our tastes and turning it up or down didn't work
