The room smelled, towels had stains in them, couldn't get shower to have hot water. No one at front desk and had to look for someone to get checked in, poolwas not in working order and no water in pool. It was advertised as having a pool. Very very disappointed and the amount of money i spent for the 2 nights was disappointing. Should get some kind of refund. I will never stay at a Baymont hotel again. Please find away to refund at least part of my money. Thank You. Maureen Frost

Beds were terrible. Room was dusty. Haven’t cleaned behind nightstand in a long time. Haven’t washed the bed skirts in a while. Was trash under the mattress. Shower had some sort of funky hard water/soap buildup. Shower head height is for shorter people. I’m 5’7” and had to duck to use the shower head. Advertised as a suite and it was just a regular room.

This property needs a lot of love. Plumbing was barely functional. The light switch in the bathroom didn't work. We tried to open a window because it smelled stale, but I was afraid the window would fall out of the wall.

Not a great place to stay
Check-in was fine. However the parking lot was very tight, pool was permanently closed, breakfast was the worst breakfast we've ever had during an overnight stay, and check-out was not to be desired. There wasn't one single employee around to check out and that was me standing there for nearly 5 minutes. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The room wasn't bad, we were disappointed in the fact that you have to ask for housekeeping and out of the 6 night stay we only received housekeeping 1 time. We had to ask for clean towels every evening. Our bedding was never changed the whole time we were there. Our trash was taken out 1 time the whole time we were there. The pillows are extremely hard and uncomfortable. There isn't a microwave in the room. When we asked for towels 1 evening the young women at the desk told me she would bring me some towels to the room but never did. The gentleman who worked the late night shift was wonderful, he gave me towels and apologized for our room not being serviced and he left a note for the next day shift reminding them. They never serviced our room again. For the price we paid for the room all we actually needed was clean towels daily and clean linen once during our stay. The pool was out of service also.

The cleanliness of our room was subpar at best. Their pool is permanently closed- which was never stated until we arrived and saw the pool and hot tub were both drained, which is unfortunate as it was one of the reasons we booked here.

Stay anyplace but here! Never here again.
Desk clock non-working (reported -no offer of replacement), air conditioner knobs gone- only could On or OFF, top vents had mold on them. Maid service people didn't even speak enough English to understand a simple room service request. Pool out of service. Beds were comfortable, only good thing. Not even a small table or desk for using a computer etc, one small very short coffee table of no use--it contained the room coffee pot etc. and only could have served as working area if you wanted to empty it, then be humped over a short knee height table in front of you. Bathroom door was so tight and close to the toilet going in and coming out that a heavy set person would never had been able to get in the bathroom. Very poor design, luckily we are not heavy set people! Overall, very disappointing room rental--not recommended-cheap IS cheap for sure there. We visit Spearfish SD several times a year, never at the Baymont again. It was busy week in Spearfish: convening college and area Motorcycle Rally, everyplace was full. Ours was last minute reservation. Should have been hint as to quality: availability & few vehicles in the lot. Two desk gals not friendly, no hello, not even a kind greeting (to us or people ahead of us) one wearing a hijab didn't even smile. We certainly know why they had a room opening and were absolutely not full of patrons when everywhere else in town was booked. First room review I have ever written (in 50 years) but this place deserves a poor rating.

Website shows a large pool, although the pool “has been drained for several years” great false advertising. Lights don’t work in the room. Refrigerator doesn’t work. Shower head is at chest height. Couch in the suite looks like a dogs been clawing at it. Cheapest tv in the world, scratchy, poor quality. Air conditioning doesn’t hardly work, lobby gave us a fan to blow the air towards the bedroom but the unit isn’t even making cool air to blow anywhere. Overall very disappointing, wish we would’ve gone to the super 8 down the road.

Based on some of the reviews I have seen I was surprised. This hotel is fine. It's not fancy, but it's clean and the staff was friendly. It is dated and is in need of updates but that didn't bother us. Breakfast was ok, nothing elaborate but fine. The pool is closed so if you are planning on that you may want to keep looking

The internet advertised this having a pool however when we arrived it says pool is permanently closed at the desk. The whole hotel is outdated by about 30 yrs and smelled like old smoke in our room. The room was supposed to have a pull out couch but only had a regular couch without a pullout and looked like it was pulled out of someone's basement. It was way overpriced for what it was in every way.

I should have paid better attention to the previous reviews. The property looked presentable on the outside however the desk person hardly acknowledged us as we checked in. A note on the front door said the pool was permanently closed yet is says pool in the ad. The fridge was missing, the desk was gone, no table and chairs like pictured, the beds were the worst and the pop machine took my money. They told me it was not their problem and not their machine but it was in their building next to the ice machine. Air conditioner controls didn't work as one knob was missing and the other was stripped. We even heard other customers complaining about the condition of their rooms. Possible the worst place I've ever stayed.

Pictures on the internet were nothing like what our room looked like. We booked a king suite, which showed a couch and recliner in a separate room. There were only 2 office type chairs and small end tables on each side. Tv had no remote in the living area. We had to ask for a small mini refrigerator. Bathroom sink leaked all over the counter every time you washed your hands. Room needed a good cleaning. Would not recommend this hotel. False advertising of pictures on the internet. Expedia should not even have them in their site.

There was NOTHING acceptable for human lodging at this facility!! The room was a dirty, no appropriate furniture in the so-called "Suite" we ended up in. No table and chairs in the dining area. They fouled up my original reservation, then tried to do an up charge for the horrible little room we were in! There is black mold all over around the base of the shower, water leaking from what appeared to be the pipes in the shower stall and soaked carpeting in front of the bathroom door as well as all the way around the outside wall that surrounded the bathroom on the side of the shower stall. There was a full sized refrigerator in the "dining" area....the freezer worked but the lower compartment of the unit did NOT work, so I called and they brought in a tiny fridge. OK . The room was filthy, the parking lot was a complete joke! Very difficult to get into and out of the lot....the breakfast promised online consisted of generic dry cereals(4) a few cut rate pastries and bread for toast. The waffle iron was the ONLY redeeming quality, but the syrup was....i don't know what...inedible! All in all, I plan to contact the health board and report this motel.... the black mold, water leaking onto the carpets, falsely advertised, over priced HOLE! Next time I'll just stay at the Holiday Inn in Spearfish SD, it very nearby and always perfect

It was a great experience, the owners or workers were AMAZING it seemed they might be a "family" but regardless they were amazing. The place was very clean, no complaints will be back if I'm in the area again.

I booked the room for 2 days specifically for area and that they had a pool and hot tub. Checked in late Friday night we got there around 11PM. Saturday went to our activity we were in town for and got back around 5PM. Went to ask about ice machine & saw pool & hot tub closed. Said sorry it was like that yesterday…We planned to swim for the evening. Said well Hampton Inn down the road has one if you want to check them I will refund you the day. Got a room at Super 8 more than what we paid, but now have the amenities. He then says oh since you booked from Expedia you have to cancel with them!! What? So now here I am and I cant get ahold of anyone through Expedia either!! NOT Happy with Baymont INN or Expedia!!! 😣 I will not revise anything that is my opinion!

This room was very outdated and in poor shape. No bar to hang clothes on. Bathroom door swung into a super small room. One at a time only. Pool was drained and permanently closed. Hair dryer didn’t work. Would not recommend for the price.

When traveling with four children, we have to stay in the larger rooms. The room we had was quite spacious with two queens in one room and a sofa sleeper in the other room. The beds were ok. The sheets were clean and neatly made. The sofa sleeper was in poor shape. The cushions were nearly worn out. When extended, the foot of the bed was noticeably higher than the head. It sagged terribly in the middle. There were no sheets for the sofa bed. I recalled the website saying we had to pay extra per person for the sheets so we used our own linen. There was a TV in each room. One room had a brand new tv that still had the energy guide sticker stuck to it but it had not been hooked up. It was just sitting on the stand. The reception in both rooms TVs was poor. There were only three towels for a room that sleeps six. The most disappointing part was that it didn’t appear to have been vacuumed well. There were many small easily vacuumed items on the floor.
