Terrible hotel! Do Not Stay Here!!!

Posted Oct 12, 2016
Pros: There was not one thing we liked about this hotel. Do Not Stay Here.
Cons: The entire hotel needs updating extremely bad. The unkept staff, owners or whatever they are need to be replaced with people that care.
Location: The location is good and it's easy to get too. We were only there as a place to sleep and have breakfast so we don't know if there are things to do.
We were greeted by an unfriendly, unkept and unshaven man at the front desk. When you live in the back you must think your appearance doesn't count. The carpeting in the halls were very stained, the halls and our room had an odor, the tub and sink were very clean but the toilet bowl looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months. Besides being all scratched up it was just plain dirty. The carpeting didn't appear clean in our room, the box spring had stains, the mattress was old and uncomfortable. We booked through a third party on line and gave a credit card for incidentals at check-in. The owner refused to give us a receipt, in the morning, showing that we didn't owe anything. We had to ring the bell to get anyone to come to the desk when we wanted to check out. It was a total inconvenience for the unkept man, who told us we could just leave our keys. Well, I like a receipt but a lot of good it did us to wait because he refused to give us one. This seems very crooked. Whenever we have stayed at any hotel we have always received a statement showing that there were no additional charges. Bare, bare minimum for breakfast. There was butter for toast. No jelly, jam or peanut butter. The coffee pots looked like they never get washed. The covers had a lot of dust on them that had been there for some time. This was our third attempt to stay at a Super 8 over the years. With two bad experiences, this being the worst, never will we stay at another Super 8!

Clean hotel, near the major road I was on

Posted Sep 18, 2016
Pros: The room was clean, the bed was good and the entire experience went well.
Cons: I had no complaints.
Location: I was there to stay the night between two days of Continuing Ed in the Black Hills. There is a lot of things to do, but I was in school both days
I arrived early when the room was not ready, but the staff were very accommodating and allowed me to check in before it was ready so that I could continue on to my schooling destination in Deadwood. It was clean and quiet and the staff were excellent.

Just awful! Smelly, odd staff.

Posted Sep 4, 2016
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Everything! I'd tear it down, it's too old.
My room smelled terrible despite the manager's assurance it had just had a deep cleaning and was inspected by the county the day prior. The toilet was propped up on wooden shivs. Even after a bottle of Febreeze it was terrible. The noise, RIGHT NEXT TO THE FREEWAY WITH SINGLE PANE GLASS, was almost unbearable, I only wanted fresh air, but that was impossible due to noise. I wanted to get out right away, but EXPEDIA SAID IT WOULD ONLY LET ME OUT FOR OVER A $150 PAYMENT, MORE THAN THE ROOM COST. Never again. I will book directly with the hotel from now on. At least I have options that way. COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED.

Would not recommend

Cons: vacuum and clean the mattresses and use covers. Enclose carpets with molding of some sort.
Location: center of the nation geographically.
Bedrooms are average and dont smell of pets or smoke, and staff is super friendly and helpful. However, beware of the beds, no mattress covers, dirty with crumbs or possibly insect/bug droppings. I would've left but didn't see this until the morning. Quiet location and working outlets and lights. Fridge and microwave were a great bonus. But health and safety first- skip this one.

Wondered how long the shattered window in our room had been there.
