This is a very nice hotel, just across the large Deauville beach. Room was big enough, big bathroom in superb condition and very clean. Excellent breakfast. Rooms could be a bit in better shape, given that this is a 5 star hotel. And room service could have been more focused in details: for instance, a seagull left a little "present" in one of our windows, and 2 or 3 full days passed without the room service cleaning it. But overall, a very nice option for this charming town.

The hotel is beautiful my only complaint is that there is not a shower in the bathroom only a shower head in the bath. Also having the toilet separate with no hand washing felt a little unhygienic

I just returned to this hotel after 10 years and overall I was very disappointed. The hotel is very outdated and needs a full refurb. Bathrooms are from the 80s. There are cracks on the facade and on the asphalt in front of the hotel and by the pool area. The pool area have employed young inexperienced staff. Once we arrived to the hotel we headed straight to the pool area to have a late lunch. We were given a table which supposedly had been cleaned and set up for us but which had pieces of spaghetti in gaps on the table, also bread crumbs and parmesan from previous guests on the placemats, seriously disgusting. When I informed the waitress, she didn’t even apologise, tried to remove some of the spaghetti which was trapped in a gap on the table and just said “sorry my fingers aren’t small enough to remove the rest”. She could have just come with a knife or scissors to scrape it up. Also when we arrived to lie down by the pool, nobody even checked if we were from the hotel and though the poolboy saw that I was struggling to raise the parasol, he didnt do anything. I had to waive and call for him to come over. At breakfast the avocado at the buffet was mouldy- anyone could see that with the naked eye. The only positives: the bar which has a very nice feel to it, the location, and last but not least the concierge Frank. He is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly and goes above and beyond!! That said, I will not be returning.

Aging remnant of a bygone era with overpriced food
A classic hotel that's showing its age. The service is friendly and attentive. The decor and furnishings are showing their age, verging on shabbiness. The room was comfortable, air conditioned, with excellent blackout shades. The shower in our room was almost unusable (low water pressure and very sluggish temperature control). Most disappointing is the food; the offerings are of reasonable quality, but at twice or more the price I would expect to pay; 20-25 euro for cocktails, 25 for an unremarkable hamburger or sandwich. We considered going all-in on dinner at the restaurant but realized it would be 300 or more euros for what was probably typical bistro fare.

From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent, the sea view room superb and the concierge’s recommendations for dining in the town were faultless. The Bastille Day Ball arranged in the hotel was a credit from champagne to the food to the fireworks - a memorable stay

Great location, good pool, excellent service and food. No air con can be a problem at times. Small private car park, but plenty near by so not a real issue unless you have an expensive car and want it kept close by. Reception and concierge are welcoming and very helpful!

I loved the hotel and the location. Also the bed was amazing!! Most comfortable I’ve had in ages and great luxe bedding. That said, we grabbed dinner in the bar area Saturday evening and waited over an hour for our food. When we asked what happened they said there was a kitchen mishap and it would be coming soon. I was shocked that a five-star hotel wouldn’t have better service. Obviously it’s fine if there was a problem in the kitchen but not one person that worked there came over to inform us of this problem and that there would be a delay. Also when we got the food they didn’t seem very apologetic for the extremely long wait. To make it worse the food was just bland once we actually got it. I’d suggest staying at the hotel and maybe having drinks there but definitely going out for lunch and dinner. My other small complaint is that we put the do not disturb sign on our door and the housekeeping still came in to make up our room even though we asked that no one into our room.

ROOM WITH SEA VIEW WAS SOOOO SMAL COULD HARDLY WALK AROUND THE BED. GUESS WE HAD BAD LUCK AS I KNOW THEY HAVE BETTER ONES ... FOUND AT MIDNIGHT HUGE NASTY MOSQUITO FLYING AROUND SO WE CALLED THE CLEANING LADY TO GET RID OF IT .. AT 3 AM FOUND ANOTHER THAT I KILLED MYSELF ... AT 7AM FOUND ANOTHER ONE ... ROOM SHOULD FOR SURE BE DESINFECTED !!! HOTEL NEEDS TO BE RENEW .. KIND OF OLD. WE SAW MAJOR WATER LEAKS IN THE CORRIDORS ... FOOD IS EXCELLENT AND STAFF ADORABLE.

We stayed for one night on route to Brittany. The hotel is beautiful, classically styled with a wonderful bar and dining area. My son loved the pool, the staff were very helpful and our room was very comfortable.

Beautiful hotel great location, everything was wonderful, but service was very slow. Slow at the bar, slow at the pool restaurant and front desk ha d to ask house keeping had to make up two single beds not one large double. Hopefully service will improve as I would like to stay there again.

The property is grand and impressive. The views from the top floors were spectacular. The staff were very helpful and kind. The buffet breakfast was also very good. My only complaint was that our room had a very slow draining sink and a shower that leaked onto the bathroom floor. I would usually not complain about things like this, but at nearly $600/night after resort fees and taxes, I expect a little more.

Amazing hotel

The concierge likewise was very effective with the taxi arrangements to Caen securing a fixed fee for the trip. The boardwalk in front was lovely and the town delightful.

In need of a revamp
Nice hotel but not worth a 5 star rating. Rooms are NOT air conditioned or even have a fan to use so when its upwards of 20 degrees the rooms are just too hot. This means you have to keep the windows open all night and its very noisy outside what with seagulls screeching all through the night and road traffic noise. The separate toilet in the bedroom does not have a window or extraction so nowhere for smells to go. All in all not great. Have stayed in lots of 4 star and 5 star hotels and this one was the worst. Outside areas not clean (seating area outside the bar). On the upside the hotel's restaurant, although dated decor, serves lovely food by great staff.
