Overall Great

We are locals that stayed for just one night to get away for my birthday. Delafield could not be more adorable, safe and friendly. The hotel is very nicely decorated and modern, and our standard room had a full size couch, desk and two TV's. The bathrooms are immaculate and the two-person tub was very nice. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the provided bathrobes were a very nice touch. There was a small fridge for drinks, wine glasses and a corkscrew provided. The second TV in our room wanted us to update/download software in order to use it and it was already midnight so we didn't bother to ask for help at that point. Of most concern was the $50 hold they put on my husband's card without telling us at check-in. I realize that this is an industry-standard practice for incidentals and potential room damage, but I can't stress enough how polite it WOULD HAVE BEEN if they had told us at check in. We had already paid our bill in full and they swiped our card at check-in anyway. Hotel industry: please just be courteous and alert your guests when you are about to do this.

Very disappointed with a typically fantastic hotel

We love the Delafield Hotel and we were so disappointed by this stay. We were excited to get away and relax for the night, and instead we were met with loud and obnoxious hotel guests waking us up around 1am, after repeated calls to the front desk by several other desks they were asked twice to quiet down and return to their rooms. I understand the staff doesn't have control over the guests, but I felt it wasn't handled quickly enough and it escalated, and it resulted in the guests causing problems getting an upgrade! While we were kept awake for hours in the middle of the night by the commotion, we weren't offered to move - and we couldn't fall back asleep. We ended up checking out at 6:30am to drive an hour home and rest in the quiet of our own home. I was disappointed I was really looking forward to the brunch! The staff was obviously irritated with the events of the evening, and barely cared to ask why we were checking out at 6:30am on a Sunday! I tried to discuss it with them and the conversation didn't get anywhere. I am disappointed with the stay and very much with how it was handled and I hope the hotel, or hotels.com will reach out to rectify this.

Renovated and Refreshed

They have renovated since we were here last. Staff was super friendly as always. I liked the old decor and the new is fine. Refreshed for sure. The bathrooms are fabulous, whirlpool tub and multiple sprays in the huge shower. The sitting room was fun with a coach kitchen like table and HUGE smart tv. We really enjoyed our stay.
