Staying in Delano CA for an overnighter to visit
Posted Apr 20, 2016
We have used this Hotel in Delano often, when visiting friends. It is one of the more expensive hotels there and costs a little over 100 a night, but in the long run, it is worth it. The staff is very kind and helpful and the rooms are nice. When we entered the room, we found it quite clean and ready for us. It was rather warm because it was upstairs, but the AC quickly cooled it down. When we returned from our visit, it was just right. The one problem with the room had to do with the safety latch on the door. Someone had forced the door at one time and had broken the base of the latch in half. Not a real problem for us because we always keep the main lock active, but useless if we had to open the door to a visitor. Another issue was the sound from next door rooms. We could hear the TV from the room next to us and had to run the AC fan all night to drown it out. Not as bad as some Motels we have visited, but something a 100 dollar a night hotel should not have. I brought up the issue with the lock to the staff and they thanked me for notifying them of the problem and apologized for the trouble. Another issue was the parking. Make sure you get there early because all the front parking disappears quickly leaving you to park around the back and sides. The front lot is also triangular making the end rather difficult to park if you have a full sized truck or car. This was evident in the large number of work trucks that were straddling two parking places.
