“The stay was comfortable and the gardens lovely. The drinks and barstaff great, reception great and friendly with advice on sight seeing. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a broken window pane and the furnishings were dated. Bed comfortable. The food was disappointing. I had a seafood chowder which was pretty good and the fish tasted fresh. the main was a steak that looked pale and was not cooked with lots of fat and gristle, the vegetables were overcooked. The desert tasted OK but……

Service , hospitality was 1st class .We got a complimentary glass of wine on arrival ….& so we stayed for lunch .We had dinner in the lumber both nights & it was delicious . I stayed there with 2 college friends & we had a great catch up in luxurious surroundings ! The pool & soa were amazing . A fabulous hotel”

I ended up getting a taxi back on three occasions as it was mostly uphill on the return. Then again I am over seventy years old.”
