peristent problems with room door key

Pros: Everything else was fine. Once I was finally in the room, it was quite clean and comfortable. No complaints about that part of my stay.
Cons: Get to the bottom of the problem door locks and fix it! Those disruptions put a damper on my entire evening at the motel.
Location: We came for the Rockhound Roundup, the local wineries and the excellent food at Marie's Italian restaurant. We do so every year and always enjoy it.
The room was fine and the breakfast buffet was good. The problem I had involved a malfunctioning door lock. When I first tried my key, the light was red and would never turn green. I went up to the front desk and the lady there assured me she would correct it. When I returned to my room to try the key again, it still would not work. Fortunately, my traveling companion had a room nearby, so I was able to call the front desk rather than have to walk up there again. This time the lady told me she would call maintenance right away. The maintenance guy showed up promptly and appeared to correct the problem, but when I tried my key, it still would not work. He said he would get a replacement key. That seemed to work when I tried my key, but after going out to dinner with friends, the new key would still not open my door two hours later. When the maintenance man returned this time, he asked if he could swap out the entire door locking mechanism. That seemed to finally do the trick. However, my stay was inconvenienced and my free time compromised by the continual problem getting the door lock to finally function as needed.

Hotel in industrial area near tracks

Stale breakfast cereal No butter Dirty tables Indicated to us that hot water might run out as they had a problem so we did not shower. Beds ok

Didn't expect a lot but was surprised how nice of a hotel it is. Nice clean hotel. Breakfast was good!

Disappointed

Pros: The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean.
Cons: Update the electrical outlets.
All the electrical outlets in our room were loose so we couldn't charge our phones or tablets. There was no extension cord for our coffee pot, I had to go to lobby to get coffee. They were happy to change our room for us, but put us in a room next to the stairs. We got to enjoy the sounds of people going up and down at all hours. Then every day we had to get our room key reset . We've been using this hotel when we come to town to visit family once or twice a year for the convenience and location. We were disappointed in our stay

I would stay again.

Pros: It was clean and quiet.
Cons: The breakfast was advertised as the "best." There was nothing New Mexican about it though. It was generic American fare.
Location: Luna Rossa winery is awesome.
Nice hotel, close to the freeway. It gets cold though and the corridors are outside. You have to walk outside to get to the breakfast and fitness center.

Best breakfast imaginable, and quality stay.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
The room is clean, and maintained. Great TV selection. Great amenities. The staff is very nice. The free breakfast is a hot buffet and cold buffet with more quality choices than you can imagine. A dream come true. When traveling from San Diego to San Antonio, I will always try to over-nite in Deming, so that I can stay at this motel.
