Not walking distance from the downtown area.

One of the staff at the concierge desk wouldn't give my child a candy when she asked because she said it was a housekeeping issue. It was a ridiculous reason not to give a child a piece of candy and made my child feel bad especially since the candy was clearly visible behind the counter. It's those little things that make the difference. Otherwise other staff were very helpful. Rooms need upgrade.

The Best View

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: The location and more for individual Travellers.
Cons: The snack bar was pricey.
Location: The best spot in town for mountain views. It's a short drive to Denali National Park where you can do a variety of bus tours to view wild animals.
This is an older style hotel built to give a great view. It is comfortable and has a homely feel to it, run by locals not a multinational chain. We stayed 3 nights to give us plenty of time to enjoy Denail National Park. Their restaurant served a good variety of dishes from a prime location. The drive up the gravel winding road is a little daunting but well worth the effort.

The rooms needed updated they offer all these TV stations but was only able to get about4. Ask for clean towels and only got one. Needed 2. Room not very clean. For the price should have not been looking at a parking lot. Watching them loading baggage. Services in the lounge and restaurant was very slow and not very organized.

A bit pricey for what you get.

Posted Jun 4, 2015
Pros: Love the views!
Cons: The Hotel staff could be MUCH more friendly. For the price, breakfast should be complimentary.
Location: The location was great for us, it was quiet and out of the way. The hotel provides courtesy busses to downtown and Denali visitor center.
The Hotel itself is beautiful and clean, the views are incredible. The Hotel staff left a lot to be desired, they were bored and not very attentive. Our room was not ready when we arrived.

Posted May 31, 2015
Location:

Special service

We had a wonderful time at the Grande Denali. It was in a perfect location for our visit to Denali. We were very thankful for one employee especially, Seth, who went out of his way to get us to the train station after we missed the shuttle.
