Wonderful "Farmhouse" B&BPosted Aug 4, 2014 on Hotels
This is a wonderful B&B. The host was very helpful in giving advice on how to get where we wanted to go, the room was very large and comfortable (one of the absolute best we enjoyed, during a 25-day visit to Britain, which included about a dozen different hotels and B&Bs), the entire B&B was clean and bright, the breakfast was well-prepared and appropriately filling, with a good selection of items for a truly "full" English Breakfast. And it was all very reasonably priced. It is somewhat difficult to find-- it is sort of in the middle of nowhere, and a GPS or SatNav system is absolutely useless-- but Roger provides very good, detailed directions so getting there is not a problem at all. The B&B is located in the midst of farmland, at least a dozen miles from the nearest town (which itself does not have much), so this is not the place to go if you want to be in the middle of any "action" or if you are hoping for some dining hotspots nearby, but if you want a clean comfortable room, nicely priced, with good meals in the B&B, and if you are comfortable in the the quiet seclusion of a very enjoyably restful environment, this is perfect.

For comfort with isolation, this is itPosted Jul 21, 2014 on Hotels
High up on the Denbigh moors, this quiet isolated hotel offers comfortable beds, excellent food and wide open vistas without another soul to be seen. Highly recommended. You'll need to book an evening meal in advance, particularly as ie must be 15 to 20 miles to the nearest pub.

Peaceful, remote, self-sustainablePosted Apr 22, 2014
Enjoyed the peaceful & remote location...comfortable, warm and rural feel on a working farm. Roger is a helpful host & good cook. Breakfasts were great...superb fuel for climbing Snowden & mountain biking! Loved the self sustaining ethos... So nice to have meals that were sourced on site!
