City Park is a great place to spot dragonflies, fish, and a variety of birds.
#blue Chinese lanterns at Zoo Lights hanging in the trees. #Treetrove City Park is buzzing with dragonflies if you just have the patience to stop and watch them.
#blue This much-loved park sits right in the middle of the city of Denver, housing the Museum of Nature & Science, the Denver Zoo, and many walking and biking pathways. The lake also is home to an astonishing variety of birds and insects. And jazz, on summer Sunday evenings. A little oasis in the middle of town. Packed with all sorts of birds, as well as some beautiful flowers.
As you can see, there is also an abundant and colorful insect population.
#blue On a grand dragonfly expedition this morning with There and Back Again. I believe this is a Blue Darner. I think this is a Widow Skimmer dragonfly. When I initially saw them flying near the lake, I thought they were some type of moth. But once I saw one alight, I realized it was a dragonfly. I love the bronze/gold sheen on the wings! City Park is one of my happy places in Denver. It helps to live a couple of blocks away. I never realized how many types of dragonflies there are until I started photographing them in City Park. I think this is a Familiar Bluet, but I'm not sure. This place just has Denver's City Park is home to an impressive variety of dragonflies as well as many birds. I liked the way the curve of this cormorant's neck is reflected in the water. Out on a photographic expedition with There and Back Again this morning. The Mythic Creatures exhibit. One of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen and it just happened to be the evening my friend and I decided to explore Denver with our cameras. I never shoot in the city, so it was a pretty lucky day! #BvsCities Tail end of an amazing sunset in Denver. #BvsCities Close-in view of a Widow Skimmer's wings. The intricate webbing is astonishing to me. On a morning expedition with There and Back Again. City Park after Dark #BvsCities Nothing like a delicious amaretto sour with good food l. There is also a big B-52 bomber on display outside. Such a unique place to visit. and if it's still open and go and check out the Air and Space Museum next-door. Haven't seen a show here, but, I sure do love this old marquee. Great vintage signage. :) City Park. I'm assuming Denver's answer to NYC's Central Park. It's an ok park. There seems to be some type of bird sanctuary island nearby. Definitely worth a look. You'll have a hard time not making some Hitchcock comparisons while looking at the hundreds of birds perched in the few trees there are. A nice positive point to this park would definitely be the paddle boats for rent. Who doesn't enjoy a good paddle boat ride with a friend? :) The invisible airport... Just kidding but it has been decommissioned since 1994 the Stapleton tower still stands however. There are plans to make into a museum or observatory with a park. It's very cool landmark to show Denver's 1st airport. If you wait patiently near the reeds at the lake, these guys will appear. With There and Back Again. First snow of the season! I'm glad we didn't get as much as they thought we were going to get, but it was nice to enjoy the snow until the sun came out. 🌤☀️❄️ #denver Checking out @fictionbeer today... #craftbeer #beer #denver #colorado #denver #colorado #kickball #summer #sunset #nofilter I found Logan House and their Nitro Cold Brew (cold brew coffee infused with nitrogen) at The Stanley Market in Denver today. Great atmosphere and this brew was definitely on point. On a pedal boat at City Park. The place was closed when I walked by, but from the outside, it looked like an excellent bicycle shop! Denver skyline from City Park, just outside the Denver zoo. Bike Depot is super rad 😜. You can take classes to build your own bike out of used parts! Or you can buy a bike already built by their mechanics. It's a rad bike coop educating people and keeping the wheels turning. Bring your ID and they let's you test ride a bike #craftbeer #beer #flight for today thanks to @s26bc with @denver.rich #denver #colorado ... They have a super cute front patio and side #outdoor #patio as well 😊 #Denver a beautiful Day Was hoping to go camping in the Westy this summer, but it was too sad to travel. Next summer? #westfalia This place only serves 30 limited run Colorado beers. Stapleton used to be the airport in Denver. Playing off the airport and Colorado beers, the clocks are set to the 4 main beer destinations in the state!
