Nazi Conference Hotel - Never Been so Scared
Posted Mar 24, 2017
The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff is very kind and nice. The location is great. Everything was very clean. The only problem: the hotel hosted a Nazi (Turning Point) conference.
I got a Nazi/terrorist vibe from the place all day on Saturday but figured I was just being paranoid. I have always been very curious about politics and history, so I have had a lot of nightmares about Nazis and the link in the past. I figured I am just over-sensitive to these concerns. Then I went outside and found out that people were protesting because the Grand Hyatt was hosting a Nazi (Turning Point) speaker. If I wouldn't have been very sick (later found out pneumonia), running a fever, and unsure about where else I could stay that night, I would have cancelled my reservations. But having never been to Denver before, I opted to stay in the hotel. Then, after dinner, I came back to the hotel with a very high fever. At this point, I got onto an elevator filled with white people. Terrified, I got off on the wrong floor to get away from people I thought might be Nazis. When I got back to my room, I did some research and found out the hotel was hosting a Nazi CONFERENCE. I am an "Aryan" looking person and I'm terrified. I can’t even imagine how people of color and Jewish guests at the hotel must have felt. I couldn’t even call the hotel to complain while I was there because HOW CAN I TRUST THE PEOPLE WHO ALLOW A NAZI CONFERENCE? If I wanted to get out of there safely, I had to shut up.
