The gorgeous old twisty stairs going outside of the upper dome in the capitol. Go up these to get an outdoor view of all of Denver #denver #colorado #winter #lights on #16thstreetmall #streetscape #denver #colorado #house #architecture opening of my class exhibit tonight here
Very cool little house museum about Molly Brown, best known for being one of the Titanic survivors #denver #christmas #lights #colorado #colors #architecture This is the view from Auraria campus at night of downtown Denver. The big blue bear. Something I made sure to see on my way through Denver!
This forty foot bear was erected in 2005 as part of a nine piece addition to the city of Denver. It is made up of metal and concrete and is peering into the convention center to see what's going on.
A special thanks to Catherine Flores for posting the bear so I could find it, I would have never known about it if she hadn't. Attack of the giant blue bear! Great convention center. Found this while looking for the blue bear in downtown Denver. #BestOf5
The Yearling: A twenty-one foot tall red chair with a painted horse on top f it sitting outside of the Denver Public Library. It was originally created for an elementary school, but then the school asked the artist to remove the horse. That was obviously not an option, so it was eventually donated to Denver and now resides in all of its strangeness right off of Broadway and 14th. One of my favorite local gems City Park is a great place to spot dragonflies, fish, and a variety of birds.
#blue The gardens are most beautiful as the sun sets or on a cloudy day when the crowds have dispersed. Looking up in to the dome of the State Capitol. Free tours through the Capitol are available The outdoor mall is fun during the day, especially with the free bus that goes up and down it, but at night during the holidays it is lit up romantically. Every night you will discover something special: street musicians, free cupcakes, or sometimes there is a woman with her typewriter writing free poetry for passerby. Our own little #localgem Some beautiful blossoms, still standing strong after the heavy snowfall of the day before. One of the finer pieces of architecture Denver has to offer. Chinese lanterns at Zoo Lights hanging in the trees. #Treetrove Looking down from the top of the dome. #blue A #colorful fall on Auraria campus. Auraria also has its own brewery, one of the few in the nation on a college campus City Park is buzzing with dragonflies if you just have the patience to stop and watch them.

The Chihuly exhibit at the botanic gardens is simply stunning.
I highly recommend it!
The gardens are an exquisite respite from the busy city. Be sure to take the dirt paths that branch off of the main paths!
This much-loved park sits right in the middle of the city of Denver, housing the Museum of Nature & Science, the Denver Zoo, and many walking and biking pathways. The lake also is home to an astonishing variety of birds and insects. And jazz, on summer Sunday evenings. A little oasis in the middle of town. Packed with all sorts of birds, as well as some beautiful flowers.
As you can see, there is also an abundant and colorful insect population.
#blue Such a lovely place to visit, especially on an overcast day. The clouds provide nice shade, and the rain still on the flowers brought out their vibrancy. #Endlesssummer The Chihuly exhibit at the botanic gardens is simply stunning.
I highly recommend it. Sometimes in Denver a church closes and is made into private condos. This is in a friend of mines home. The stained glass window is directly in his living room The Chihuly exhibit at the botanic gardens is simply stunning.
I highly recommend it. On a grand dragonfly expedition this morning with There and Back Again. I believe this is a Blue Darner. #Endlesssummer
Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the gardens and the wide variety of plant life there. The charming local gem Castle Marn Bed & Breakfast.
Here you can see they have a lovely little table set up for a brunch.
All of the rooms are decorated in a Victorian style. It is in a great location and nestled in a historic neighborhood.
#blue First real try at street photography #BvsCities The cheese board. Three different cheeses, wonderful fresh bread, garlic, smoked sea salt, apples, sugared nuts, and jam.
This is a wonderful restaurant with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.

I highly recommend it, it is quite #colorful #Endlesssummer
The brilliant and bright flowers at the gardens. It is a lovely place to spend a morning. Be sure you take the small dirt trails off of the main paths. The lovely botanic gardens

The view of Denver on a snowy day from the upper dome
Little Man Ice Cream. Most people find it a charming #localgem, and I always found it creepily intriguing.
A great shop located inside the milk jug itself selling homemade ice cream, open until midnight, and will give your dog a little cone of some doggy friendly ice cream as well. Big blue bear staring into the convention centre. A nice piece of art to brighten up the street. Some of the architecture here blows my mind! Cool soda shop with tons of crazy drinks! #TroveOn Nice place for skiing 🎿🏂 I think this is a Widow Skimmer dragonfly. When I initially saw them flying near the lake, I thought they were some type of moth. But once I saw one alight, I realized it was a dragonfly. I love the bronze/gold sheen on the wings! City Park is one of my happy places in Denver. It helps to live a couple of blocks away. I never realized how many types of dragonflies there are until I started photographing them in City Park. I think this is a Familiar Bluet, but I'm not sure. Holiday lights at the botanic gardens Woke up to a little more #winter #snow this morning, it's pretty 💚 #denver #colorado #milehighcity The rainforest pavilion is warm, humid and for me smells like home 🇧🇷 This monolithic piece of public art at Denver's Botanic Gardens cooled things off in the typically hot, dry climate of this mile-high city. The day of our visit, workers were setting up the Kizuna: West Meets East exhibit highlighting the visionary work of Japanese artist Tetsunori Kawana and American artist Stephen Talasnik. See their work and much more of this must-see botanic garden via my blog at http://www.aplacecalledroam.com/home/denvers-got-the-dirt-on-beautiful-botanic-gardens. The Chihuly exhibit at the botanic gardens is simply stunning.
I highly recommend it. The totally delicious raspberry mint cake with coconut ice cream at Zengo's. Its a Latin Asian fusion restaurant. Be sure to get the edamame XO, it is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. Everything is made to be shared, so feel free to order multiple plates and share among the table. Reservations are necessary on weekends.
#delicious A view from approximately 35,000 feet in the air, on my way to Las Vegas, Nevada. A great place for a beer with friends to enjoy the game. This place just has Denver's City Park is home to an impressive variety of dragonflies as well as many birds. The ice skating park snugly located off 16th street mall. Most locals don't even know it exists, though the ones that do consider it quite the #localgem
Grab a friend or a loved one and skate under the enchanting holiday lights at night. Colorado has had a ton of rainbows during this rainy summer The OMG! French toast. Fresh brioche stuffed with mascarpone and topped with vanilla creme, salted caramel, agave soaked strawberries and toasted coconut. Way too tasty to be so affordable The most friendly staff you don't have to least because they all work that they all worked every single table. All natural just a blast restaurant experience. A little oasis in the middle of town. Packed with all sorts of birds, as well as some #Colorful and beautiful flowers. #ferriswheel ultimate #kidsfun so much fun to be had at an amusement park. Denver's best amusement park. Great hotel and a fabulous restaurant called Place de arms! One of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen and it just happened to be the evening my friend and I decided to explore Denver with our cameras. I never shoot in the city, so it was a pretty lucky day! #BvsCities Tail end of an amazing sunset in Denver. #BvsCities You know... I'm from Seattle. And I know coffee snobbery. Believe me, I do. But a slow pouring technique with a paper filter for a cup of coffee? This takes snobbery to a new level! Personally, I still think a french press is the best way to do it.
