Not great

Posted Aug 21, 2016
Not a bad hotel but I wouldn't recommend it. The train goes by every hour all hours, the 12th floor smelled terrible, our air conditioner didn't work, and it took almost ten minutes to get hot water. Honestly, I would book the doubletree up the street next time. The only upside I would say was my checkin took 5seconds lol.

Although we’re glad you had a speedy check-in, it’s disappointing that other aspects didn’t meet your expectations. Mandatory railroad testing’s being conducted in our area, which is temporary and we’ll share your concerns with our maintenance team. We hope you’ll give us another chance.

Not worth the money

Posted Aug 17, 2016
When i checked in the staff at the desk was rude and not customer service oriented at all. The balcony we had you couldn't even hear yourself think if the door was open to it due to whining sound of ac units on roof below. The outdoor pool area sounds like your in an airline hanger next to jet engines running no way you can relax. All in all the experience I had there was no where near worth the money they charge

Wished our room was bigger

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Pros: Room service/staff were all very pleasant.
Cons: With groups of 4 or more dont let them pick the king deluxe room. Suggest a bigger room so people dont get stuck in a tiny room all weekend.
Location: We went to Water World and 16th street mall are nearby.
Very small rooms. We had booked for 5 people, assuming we would get a room big enough for 5 people. Barely had enough room to walk. Asked to get a bigger room and we would pay the difference, but of course they were full and had no other options for us. The staff was really nice and tried to be as accomodating as possible, but unfortunately there was not a whole lot they could do. I was also very disappointed to the fact there were train tracks right behind the hotel, and of course we got a room on the back side of the building and got the pleasure of hearing the train blow its horn every hour. The lobby is beautuful, but the rest of the hotel photos are very deceiving. Hotel needs some serious updating, we had yellow wall paper in our room. Breakfast buffet was also very mediocre. In my opinion for what that hotel charges people to stay there, I expected it to be a much bigger/nicer hotel than what we got. More than likely will never stay there again. Double tree across the street looked much better, and further away from the trains......

Although we’re glad our staff provided friendly service, we’re disappointed you encountered a few challenges. Mandatory railroad testing is being conducted in our area and train horn use will be reduced once finished. We do also offer a la carte breakfast which we hope you’ll try on another visit.

Basscenter trip

The hotel was clean and very impressive. One thing that I noticed though is that some of the features listed in the description were not present in the actual room.

Close to great shopping & airport

Posted Jul 9, 2016
Close to the Galleria and airport. We had dinner at the restaurant, and the food was good. All of the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay again if we were in the area.

Great hotel for the price I paid

Posted Jun 14, 2016
Great experience, besides the power outage they got the place running up quickly. Two others and I went to the bar to eat and have a few drinks, the lady server didn't pay attention to us as well as she should, I had to order the drinks and food from the bartender. Tipped him instead of our server and voiced my opinion on her. Otherwise place was great.
