Palatial, except...Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: The history! Tremendously beautiful. Screams privilege, gold rush, aristocratic treatment but in the wild west.
Cons: Room service, obviously. See above.
Location: Red Rocks Amphitheater 16th Street Mall: walking&shopping. Cherry Creek North. Denver: the home of 1-way street, none of them going the right way.
The hotel is indeed a palace. Older, but stately...unfortunately, it's sometimes the small things that trip us up: in our absence a cleaning person (presumably) broke a glass, and didn't clean it all up. when we got back to the room and kicked off our shoes, I cut a toe on glass, and discovered shards around the bathroom and in the bedroom on the carpet. (No idea how it got so spread out.) No glasses were brought to replace the glasses taken (broken). No coffee to replace used coffee. No fresh coffee cups. No replacement sweetener. Valet service was good. Doorman was helpful.

Historic hotel in DenverPosted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: The staff is highly trained, very friendly, and accommodating. They really made the stay enjoyable. Great job!
Cons: Not in my opinion. Again, the Brown Palace owners are doing a great job!
This hotel is great! Very beautiful with a highly professional and friendly staff. Everything you would want from a high end, classic hotel like the Brown Palace. The only complaint I would have was that during our trip there was a lot of construction in the area and finding the main lobby/valet parking was a bit of a challenge. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but worth note if you are planning a trip soon. You can access the valet on Tremont Pl. Otherwise, our trip was great, and we would like to come back again.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE!Posted Aug 9, 2015 on Hotels
I was extremely disappointed in the Brown Palace. With all of its history and beauty the service from the hotel was extremely disappointing. On our first night we had no bathroom amenities and had to call down for basics like shampoo, soap, etc. The next day when we came back at 5 PM our room was not serviced. No clean towels, no bed made, still no bathroom amenities. Disappointed, I went to the front desk and was told that room service has until 9 PM to clean our room. 9 PM??? I then called concierge who heard my concern and said the manager would call me. He called an hour later and offered free internet, Wow, thanks! (sarcasm pretty thick) I did tell him I would like my room cleaned but said we would be leaving at 7:30 PM. He obliged, but about 20 minutes later (around 6:50 PM) housekeeping came and knocked on our door to clean our room. It was the wrong time to finally care about room cleanliness!! After cleaning our room she still forgot to leave shampoo, soap, lotion, etc. To cap it all off, when we left in the morning to head to the airport we could not find valet, bell hop or anyone at the front desk to assist us in getting our rental car. We had to chase someone down after 10 minutes to finally get some service. I have had some odd hotel stays, but for what I paid the Brown this was incredibly disappointing and their lack of concern was the part I was most frustrated by.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. I was treated like royalty. I will definitely be back.

Brown Palace, not quite.Posted Jul 19, 2015 on Hotels
When we came back to the room the first night, the hotel had lost A/C. Temp went up to 76 and the ceiling fan had an annoying click. The next morning we were told the A/C was fixed, but our room was at 77. They gave us a cooled room that evening that was bigger. In general the rooms are small with few electrical outlets. The hotel itself is a late 18th c. tour de force. Gorgeous. Staff is super. Parking is $40/day, WiFi in room is another $13. Outrageous! Glad we stayed, will not return.

PerfectionPosted Jul 14, 2015 on Hotels
I purchased this room as a wedding night gift for my sister and her groom. The staff and the management worked with me to ensure incidentals were billed to me instead of the newlyweds. The staff treated the newly weds like returning royalty. They completely enjoyed everything. The staff made sure to add a few special touches that make me so proud and happy to have selected The Brown for this occasion. Just perfection.

Historical Brown is modern day averagePosted Jul 14, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is an old historical building so the modern day amenities are not there. Bathroom had little counter space. Heating cooling system was antiquated. Lobby and hallways were nice and show great aumbeance. Restaurant and louge are great. A very cool cigar louge is a very neat experience for the cigar customer. Outside the building was unde r scaffolding. Website should reflect is under going renovation. If you're for old historical this a great. Want modern hotel I'd look elsewhere.
