Kitsch hotel centrally located

Posted May 21, 2017
The Curtis was an interesting choice - they're certainly not the bland hotel so common in the US. I'd say it was a little too kitsch for my taste, but it didn't take away from the comfort, and it was a cool place to stay. The location is very convenient. And they give out cookies when you check in, which was exactly what we needed!

Great location. Small room, problems with shower.

Posted May 11, 2017
Despite early checkin we were put in lowest possible floor (4th). Different staff gave different checkin times on the phone and in person (1pm vs 3pm). Room was quite small. Large bathroom but little to no pressure in the shower, and too much in the sink. Free but very slow internet. Great location near 16th St mall, Larimer, convention center, etc.

Downtown Denver Hotel

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Pros: Rooms were clean and nice. Housekeeping service was prompt.
Cons: It is a little confusing getting from the parking garage to the hotel. It looked like a tatoo shop taking the elevators to the reception.
Location: The Star wars costume exhibit was in town and the hotel was using star wars theme key cards. It was a nice promo and made my kids want to see it.
This hotel was nicely done. The elevators are quite the experience. I got to stay on the gaming floor with the hall decorations video game themed. The cookies at check in were a nice bonus!

Greetings Johnny, Thank you for your comments. The Tattoo Parlour is actually an art piece commissioned by a local artist. Each level of the parking garage has a different theme and is designed somewhat to help you remember where your car is. I hope you get to check out some of the other artwork on a return trip.

The details count and they failed

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Like my title indicated, the detail count and that's where this hotel failed miserably. Let me start: Reserved room way in advance, flight delayed, called them and said we would be late and hold the room. Arrived, and we got the last and worst room right across the loud elevator Wanted to go to hotel bar one night. Sorry, bar closed. Private event. Two days, computer servers were down. Had problem with room keys and exiting the garage. Last day, room key didn't work. Had to go reactivate it. Web site indicated "visit us and we take care of the parking". NOT!! Misrepresentation. Beware. Almost 40 dollars per night!! Not going back,

Reminds of cute boutique hotels in Europe!

Posted Apr 10, 2017
Pros: Decor, friendly staff
Cons: It's perfect the way it is.
Location: Museums, the opera house, eat and drink!
Starting with the cookie and bottle of water at check-in, the experience was friendly with a side of cool funky. Sounds a little odd right? But the decor is fresh and very culturally hip/nerdy with the Star Wars painting and the wonderful light from "A Christmas Story". Loved the location, in the center of Downtown, near the University. The restaurant next door, The Corner Office has very good eats but the entire area has great food. Near museums and the room, although a bit on the small side (I'm used to it from my trips to London and Amsterdam) was very well appointed. I don't think it's a good hotel for families but as a single person (or couple) that want to see all that Downtown Denver has to offer, it's ideal.

Mattie had the wrong room number

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Other than someone waking us up with the wrong room number at 1:30 am. The front desk did comp us the parking fee.

Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Location: Loved the location, it was perfect.
I made my reservation with expedia and so I am not sure if that makes a difference. I did check off the room option for non-accessible. When I arrived the front desk said that was all available for the price I paid since it was through a third party that I made my reservation. I accepted because I did not want to be charged an extra $70 for a regular room, I thought, how bad could it be. The room was directly in front of the elevator and the other rooms were around the corner. So it felt like they stuffed me in a noisy corner. The room was satisfying. But the bathroom was a little weird. Yes, it is an accessible room, but there was no counter space, zero and the shower head looked like a romovable, but it wasn't. It slid up and down and the direction was more horizontal. Again, I understand why. I wish I could have seen a regular room to compare, but I guess for the price, it was okay.

Dear Rae, I am not sure what happened with the reservation, but the reservation did come through as an accessible reservation. We were sold out on the night you stayed so we didn't have another option to move you to in the same room class. Our apologies that it wasn't what you expected.

Accesible rooms have a lockoff to the room next door. You can hear everything going on next door.
