Check in was ok, but I would have preferred the clerk let me have the choice of signing up for the Marriott membership program. When I said, "No thanks," He said, "Well I'll sign you up so you get the free internet."
The following day, I accidentally locked myself out of my room as I stepped into the hall to make a call while my kids napped. I called the front desk to ask if they could either send someone up or could they activate my mobile key. They said I had to come down with ID but I explained I wouldn't leave my kids and they finally, begrudgingly, came up.
That night, we wanted to use the pool, which is advertised as heated but was like ice water. I asked at the front desk and the clerk told me someone would check into it.
Our final morning, I asked the clerk if someone had turned on the pool. He said he would check, sent a message, and as we waited while he got no response he said, "I'm sure it's on." So we went and it was still cold. Finally, after calling and saying as such, someone turned the pool on. Eventually it felt like lake water and we went swimming for a few minutes before we had to check out.
Generally, I just didn't feel like my business was wanted and that the staff viewed me - and likely others, based on a conversation I had with another guest - as an imposition. The room was in ok condition, a little worse for wear, and the main floor, lobby, and pool area were clean.
If the staff had just been more hospitable, this review would be more stars.
