Really amazing hotel with history. Bathroom could do with updating in the room we were in but generally everything was clean and the bed was super comfy. We stayed in a dog friendly room.

We had a good stay noticed that the lift wasn't working so had a few stairs to get to our room. Breakfast was ok .

Staff are what makes this property outstanding they are so helpful especially the girls on the reception desk who responded to my email requests . Rooms are very quaint ours has a floor that tilted but it was clean and had everything you needed in it . Food was good , Wi-Fi a good speed and parking was ok even on a weekend

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, and the hotel was full of character. We stayed in a four poster bedroom, which was lovely. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. We would return.

Buxton is an old spa town and absolutely stunning. There is everything here you need, fabulous shops, bars, restuyand cafés and surrounded by miles of hiking possibilities. The Old Hall Hotel is situated right in the middle of Buxton, making it very convenient, with a lovely view over the park and just opposite the opera house. Parking is available outside and a day ticket can be purchased from reception. The hotel is clean and staff are very attentive. There isn't much in the hotel or the rooms though. It's basic and could do with a refurb and upgrade but it's good value for money. Fine for a short stay which we did. The rooms are smallish, there is no safe, no mini bar no fridge or hairdryer. The hotel has a breakfast room a bar and a restaurant, no other extras. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it very practical to be right in the middle of Buxton to have a choice of so many fabulous places we could reach on foot and go walking.

Lovely place
Lovely old hotel just across the road from Buxton Opera House. Great welcome and very helpful lady on reception. Breakfast is plentyful and well presented. Will definately be visiting again

A good hotel from my viewpoint.
This hotel felt homely and comfortable. It was good to be there and it would be my hotel of choice for my next visit. Definitely better than the 4 or 5 other hotels I have used in Buxton.the

Great location right in the center of town. Breakfast was full English buffet, great quality. Nice bright breakfast room. Room was large and in keeping with the age of the hotel. Would definitely stay there again. Only negative is the parking. Expedia shows the hotel has parking, but it's actually just metered parking on the street that you get a discount on, so if all the spaces are already filled with people in town you're out of luck. That should be clearer on Expedia.

Weekend Stay
Slightly bonkers old hotel, with more furniture than you can figure what to do with. Beds were super comfortable and the room was spotless. Hairdryer tried to kill my partner (hadn't been serviced for 5 years) and the breakfast was tepid at best. Great position right next to the park.
