We have stayed here a number of times and while it is not very fancy it is more than made up for by the friendly staff. It is like home from home. We never look to stay anywhere else when in the Peak District. A real gem in a stunning setting.
A lovely hotel with great food. Used by locals and walkers alike, dog friendly too.
We stayed in room 1, which offers the most fantastic view of the open countryside. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was really superb. A great hotel, great pub and great place to eat.
Spotlessly clean. Cozy friendly bar. Excellent food and service. Bed, pillows and bedding so comfortable. Amazing views. The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble
Fantastic place, Location was excellent, all the staff nice and very friendly, Everything about my two night stay was perfect. One slight nit pik is i would have preferred another option on the evening menu to chips. Breakfast excellent.
The property has beautiful views across peaks. Food was very good and service very friendly. Room adequate size bathroom was immaculate. Small fridge in room was nice can see it being a bonus summer time. Very comfortable stay
Fabulous location with lots of walking opportunities from the hotel. The room was very small and compact but very clean with a comfotable bed and nice ensuite. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent the views from the restaurant superb. Food in the hotel on an evening is also very good. Will definitely be hoing back
Very quaint little place, with beautiful surroundings overlooking the Dale's. Loved the old fashioned key door and bathroom was spotless and all new. Brilliant little place if you're after peace and quiet.
This was a stay to celebrate our anniversary and I was very pleased with the location and the views. The bar and food was very good. Friendly staff. A little tired in some areas but overall comfortable. Would recommend for walkers definitely as in an ideal spot and will come again
The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. The twin room was very small but clean and pleasant.
Unfortunately there were 2/3 locals in the bar all evening who became increasingly loud and were effing and blinding throughout. They should have been told to stop by the landlord but were never challenged. They didn’t stop until after 11pm.

Had a lovely stay at the Lathkil Hotel. Beautiful views, wonderful breakfast, clean and well stocked bedroom and great staff. Would have happily paid double what I did to stay there, would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Peak District region.
From check in to check out brilliant. Friendly and welcoming staff, clean and comfortable accommodation.Wednesday night was pie and a pint night and quiz night. Pie, chips and peas was delicious. The locals made us welcome with their quiz, fun and friendly.
Breakfast was really good and the views out the dining area were beautiful.
We had a great stay here for 2 nights. It's very well located for days out walking and returning for a food meal! Staff are lovely and welcoming, room was very clean and tidy too. Good was a very good standard and choice, one criticism would be on the portion size of the starters, compared to the cost they're small. Mains were ample though! We would happily return for another weekend in the Peaks.
On first impression the hotel seemed very basic but we very quickly found that it was lovely and clean, the staff very friendly and after full days walking we stayed in for dinner every night as the food was very tasty. The view from the hotel is spectacular to.
The local people welcomed us to their quiz night on Wednesday and other nights we always had someone to chat to.
We would like to thank all staff for making our stay so enjoyable but especially Sam for looking after us in the mornings and Kerry for lovely chats after our walks.
What a view!
The first thing we did as the weather was good was to get a drink and soak up the scenery.
The room was good for a 1 night stay, on the small side but sufficent none the less. We appreciated the proper milk in the little fridge, nicer for hot drinks.
Evening meals we're tasty.
Staff we're friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was lovely.
Would stay again.
