Discover our charming duplex. Our residence has everything you need for your stay in WDM. Located 5 minutes from Jordan Creek. Quiet neighborhood with parking available for multiple vehicles in the driveway. Close to some of the best WDM restaurants - Cool Basil, Waterfront Seafood Market and Cafe, among others. Only 10 minutes from Downtown.

Welcome to Clive. Clive has awesome shops, restaurants, nature trails - you name it, Clive has it. The duplex is in a quiet neighborhood right across the street from University Park Shopping Center which houses TJ Maxx, Waterfront Seafood, the new Brazil Terra Grill Steakhouse. It's also a few blocks from Starbucks, Cool Basil, Kohls and SO many more shopping and eating opportunities.

The right side of the duplex is all yours. Deck outside to share and back yard.
The driveway to the Right of the home is all yours.

This is a duplex, guests have access to the entire right side of the house, the Right side of home's driveway and shared yard/deck.

Getting around couldn't be easier. Whether you prefer exploring the city by foot, bike or ride share, there is great public transit, bike lanes, even downtown sky walks to avoid bad weather! And of course Uber is only a text away.

Overall Okay

There were no major problems with this property other than the carpet on the stairs was very dirty. Other small details were that there were not enough towels and only 1 large spoon in the silverware drawer. Also, a bit of extra toilet paper would have been nice.

Misleading and disappointing

Our group came to Des Moines for a funeral. We immediately noticed this was not in a quiet location as specified, but on the corner of a very busy street. The exterior didn’t look well maintained and before entering, we noted the broken blinds and broken flooring and junk in the entrance. Once inside, the first thing we noticed was that it looked nothing like the pictures in the listing. The pictures showed a light, bright interior and this didn’t even have the same furnishings and was dark. Almost all the blinds were bent with whole sections broken out of them. There were not enough towels for us and no hand towels or washcloths. There were no additional blankets or throws and only enough hangers for us to have one each. The walls and cabinetry were shabby and needed repair and paint. Although the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty, the rest of the place was clean. I do want to note that when I communicated these things to the property manager, she made sincere efforts to fix what she could. She had someone drop off additional towels, washcloths and throw blankets. The hair dryer was missing; she asked me to purchase one and reimbursed me and she gave a 10% discount off our first night. However, the overall dinginess and disrepair were not things she could fix. We were planning to have a few relatives visit, but couldn’t do that with the condition of the place. While I can’t recommend this property, the manager got 5 stars because she tried to make things better.

The listing was staged with added and different furniture than we were given. Broken chipped glassesNo spoons for eating Listing never mentioned 2 story and no lighting for stairs which was a problem for my mobility challengesConditions of furnishings was appalling.

Super clean cute house

Great little house. Very clean and a great host. Has a basement that has reinforced floor joices to be a proper tornado shelter. I will be back in June and i will stay again.

Cute Cottage in Des Moines

The entire process from start to finish was smooth. The house is as it appears in the pics. We stayed here during the hinterland music festival. It was in a nice and safe neighborhood, plenty of options to get coffee and bagel in the mornings. Quick access to the freeways. The house was clean and spacious with a lot of closets. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. We had a minor glitch before the arrival and Sheryl handled it very well and professionally. Life happens, how well you take care of situations is what matters and Sheryl took care of it very well. Throughout our stay she was available on text and messages and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Midwest hospitality at its finest. RECOMMEND!!!
