Great hotel for a group of friends

We booked this hotel last minute. There were 4 of us and we had decided to drive to Des Moines and get a hotel the night before we went to the Iowa State Fair. The complimentary breakfast was great! They brought extra blankets and towels right away. My only complaint was no hot tub! But the pool was great.

Relays/Rest

We were here for the Drake Relays but were rained out. So we shopped until we dropped at the Mall. The hotel was our comfort zone to relax, watch tv & eat. The hotel was quiet, staff friendly. Breakfast was a variety. Hotel now in the process of updates . Our room needed a new bath mat, the mat is old & worn out.

Good location for me

Yogi was awesome. He opened the pool so I could do physical therapy workout before me meetings !!! The whole staff was friendly. The halls were tore up getting ready for new carpet. That was why the 3 on hotel condition. Loved the double sinks in the bathroom. The pool was a warm water pool--very nice.

Spring Fling

I was not real comfortable with the area. Room had been freshly painted. Carpet in hall was being replaced so the carpet pad was the only thing down. This hotel is under new management.

Simple

Room had been recently painted and there was paint splatters in tub and an vanity. Room was clean otherwise and comfortable. Blackout curtains were great. They could use some more tables at breakfast, which was simple, but saved us from going anywhere. Close to food, shopping and interstate.

Cons: Sound insulation in rooms
On the negative side, very poor sound insulation -- better hope for neighbors not talking loud or watching TV. On the positive side, friendly staff
