    When to Visit

If you are looking for a hotel Colorado residents will likely tell you to book early if you want to hit the slopes. This area is best known for its winter play, so the peak times are booked well in advance. If snowboarding is your thing, it is worth the trouble to find resorts in Colorado that have last-minute cancellations. Fans of hiking will enjoy spring, summer, and fall here. Many of the ski towns have festivals, concerts, and summer activities like alpine slides to keep the fun going year-round in these winter sport communities. Lovers of cheap deals will find that spring ""mud season"" discounts allow them to take a last-minute snowboard down some of the higher peaks. You can also be one of the first of the year on the local mountain bike trails, all for the lowest prices of the season.

    What to Do

There is so much to do in Colorado. City fans can take in a Rockies or Avalanche game or concert in Denver while budding paleontologists and archaeologists can participate in dinosaur digs or view petroglyphs near Four Corners. Visitors to hotels in Colorado Springs can visit the campus of the air force academy or head across the plains on a horseback ride. The hip, funky town of Boulder offers a more modern vibe. You can realign your chakras at a spa or yoga retreat, or partake in rock climbing on an adventure getaway. Of course, many come for a trip down the slopes in one of the many resort towns of the Rockies.

There are many sides to Colorado, and Expedia.com has the best deals on all of them. After a long, sunny day outside, which happens over 300 days per year in this state, tuck into a great meal of buffalo burger or steak from the local ranches. If you're in the mood for international offerings, there are gourmet restaurants in all the major cities, within walking distance of hotels in Colorado.

    Colorado Resort Amenities

Colorado hotels can range from budget-conscious to high-end star-studded resorts. Food options consist of eat-in room service and full kitchens that allow guests to plan a more budgeted trip. Hotels near the local parks offer nature tours for the entire family as well as lessons on activities like fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and fossil hunting. Balconies in the valley towns of the Rockies often have private hot tubs for a romantic warm-up from a long day on the slopes. Check out our offerings at Expedia.com where we can help you find the perfect fit between amenities and price.

    Colorado Landscape

Flights to Colorado usually enter through Denver where I-70 will take you into the Rockies and across the state. Smaller commuter flights are available to other flat regions, like Grand Junction. The eastern part of the state, the Front Range, is home to ranches, agricultural areas, and the Denver Metroplex. The Rockies have several dozen resort towns, including Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Steamboat Springs, and Glenwood Springs. Finally, the Southwestern Four Corners region is a beautiful area of sandstone monuments and ancient cultures. Whichever region appeals most to you, visit Expedia.com to book your dream escape to Colorado today.

    "Close to everything in Downtown!"
Having lived in downtown Denver in the past, I knew that the Magnolia was in great location and thus why I selected to stay there. It is only 1 block from 16th Street Mall and almost everything else is walk-able as well. The check-in process was easy, the room was clean, modern and comfortable. The front desk staff was average, valet staff was excellent. I will say that if you want to get ANY type of quality sleep, do not get a room on the side where the light rail runs. I didn't sleep at all as it runs all night and makes an annoying dinging noise when it crosses the street! Only the next day did the staff say, "Oh, you should have called us. We have a noise kit for that". What? Why didn't you tell me that when I checked in? I have never heard of a noise kit (I guess it has earplugs, white noise machine, etc). If they provide that, you know they know it is noisy... and should tell you that. It was probably the worst sleep I have ever had in a hotel - ever. And, I've traveled a lot. The parking is also expensive... But, that's downtown Denver and not unusual for any hotel. Also it is not a business hotel - a USB port would have been helpful.

I was in Denver to see my son. Upgraded room, accomadated his dog, and helped with an extended stay waiting for delayed medical attention for my son. The front desk team is second to none, specifically Terrance and Mr James.

"Nice room and hotel, not so great meal."
We recently spent the night at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. The hotel and most staff were great and the rooms were clean and comfortable. With the exception of a few minor things. First off we decided to dine at the hotel and have their holiday buffet which cost $49.99 per person, I would not recommend this meal for the price. The vegetables were overdone and the rice was way undercooked, so crunchy you couldn't eat it. Just seemed overpriced for what was served. The only other thing was the next day we got a later start, check out was at 12 noon. At about 10 am house keeping knocks on the door and I respond that we are not ready for housekeeping yet, she then pounds on the door again and yells through it "well when are you going to be out?'". Check out isn't untill noon!

    "Beautiful, Expensive, Spotty Customer Service"
The facility and grounds are beautiful. If you are with a large group or corporation you've got it made. Unfortunately, individuals often lose out - amenities like the pool are closed for private functions, dinner and spa reservations are difficult to obtain, etc. The staff is unevenly trained. Some are very professional and others severely lack in professionalism and knowledge. Although I booked through Expedia and received a "total balance" with my confirmation, the Broadmoor's "total balance" was higher and no one could identify specifically what accounted for the upcharge. We were charged a resort fee although most of the amenities were closed for the season (pool, paddle boats) and many others were not available due to private events. We booked a tour on Broadmoor's Cog Railway and were notified that it was only going half way up Pike's Peak due to extreme wind. We were issued a credit and rather than receiving 1/2 of our payment back for 1/2 of a trip we received less than 1/6th! Although the rooms were beautifully appointed and looked clean when we requested our sheets be replaced either the request was ignored or our replacement sheets contained a few stands of hair.
