Overall good experience

Pros: The hotel is affordable with valet parking, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the complimentary breakfast provided a good variety of choices
Cons: The bathroom was the only chink - the repairs done poorly.
Location: The location is close to the People Mover, which makes it very easy to get around the downtown area, restaurants, bars, casinos, sporting events.
Overall, the room was clean - although there was some sort of dirt or debris in the tub. The bathroom had signs of obvious water damage. The beds were comfortable and hotel was quiet. The complimentary breakfast was nice with a lot of variety.

slow car return!

we came to see Jeff Dunhum. we had to wait 30 min. for our van. because of that delay we were 30 min late to the show! I text the number 15 min before we needed to leave!! Our room was right beside the elevator and i couldnt get to sleep with all of the noise! the bed need to be updated it was very worn n saggy! The over all cleanliness of hotel was great! we also enjoyed the breakfast bar! I suggest asking for your car 30 min before u need to leave!!!

Location was a perk.

Breakfast was packed. Hotel did keep bringing out food so everyone could eat. Some of the staff were over the top nice and accommodating. Other staff members were not welcoming and rude in some situations as if they were not an employee of the hotel and I wasn't asking them to do their job of printing me a receipt.

Love my short stay at this hotel. Pet friendly and very reasonably priced. I didn't eat the breakfast so I cannot comment On that. But overall I was very pleased

Nice & convenient hotel + location!

Staff very friendly and accommodating✔️ Room clean✔️ Delicious continental breakfast✔️ Convenient location✔️ This hotel suited all the needs of my friends and I, as we stayed for a Wings game. The walk is less than 10 minutes away, and the hotel is located in a perfect spot in the middle of town. We easily walked everywhere we needed with no problem! The breakfast was very delicious and had lots of options to choose from. For those who would like to park your own car, instead of wait for valet - there is a parking lot right next to the hotel just around the block that you can pay to park your car. It made it more convenient and accessible to go to the car if needed and to know where it is. Definite recommendation!!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My experience was terrible. My flight 12/17/16 was delayed due to an ICE storm in BWI and snow in Detroit from 6:30 to 11 pm and landed at 12 midnight. I called the 800 number to advise of late arrival. By the time I arrived at the hotel the front desk employee stated rudely as she counted change in the cashier that all reservations were cancelled at midnight, even my prepaid room. My next flight was at 8:50 am that day so I returned to the airport and the funds were extracted from my account. Thanks for a miserable night in Detroit.

Location good, everything else not so good

They promised wifi but it was out; they had a TV in the room but most channels were out; they did have a free breakfast buffet but get there early before the food is gone. The staff was friendly but didn't flinch when I asked about the internet. Not even an apology. There are several hotels in Greektown and if I had to do it again I'd pick another option.

Holiday Inn I certainly expected more from you.

Pros: Hotel staff was very friendly especially the valet service ($27.00 plus tip) and check in staff.
Cons: Call a plumber. Hot water should be available at all times in a $40.00 local dump motel and certainly in a higher end chain known for quality.
Great valet service. Friendly check in staff too. The room, however was quite disappointing. While the bed was comfortable enough, the shower was basically disgusting. Still not sure what that substance on the shower wall was exactly but of all the places that are easy to clean you'd figure the shower would be the top of the list. Quite possibly the hotel staff couldn't clean the shower properly because there was NO HOT WATER. Are you kidding me Holiday Inn? The lack of hot water in the shower is completely unacceptable and I would consider it one of the very basic "musts" for any hotel claiming not to suck. All taxes and valet service included came to a little over $300.00 for the night, not exactly cheap by any standard but I expected a clean room and and unlimited supply of hot water in the shower.
