Awful

Posted Feb 11, 2017
This is NOT a St. Regis hotel. Do not be deceived. Decent lobby but heating broken in room, had to sleep with window open in middle of winter. Room smelled. Elevator did not work. Front desk person barely apologetic.

Dont waste your money

Posted Feb 8, 2017 on Hotels
Overrated & overpriced. I booked this hotel just for the location. It was freezing outside and they dint have hot water to bathe. For that price they don't even offer complimentary breakfast. Waste of money.

Thank you for the feedback. The city of Detroit was working on the water mains and this caused a slight delay in hot water to some rooms. We strive for all our guests to have a memorable experience and will take this opportunity to learn and grow from your experience to better ourselves.

it was a little difficult to find, small signage, and hard to figure way in through the gate.

I did not like that you had to pay $20 a day for parking and pay for a frig to be included in your room. I WILL NOT BE staying there again!

I had a horrible experience

Posted Jan 25, 2017
The room was cold and the bath tub was out dated. My parking was suppose to have been waived for the inconvenience but wasn't until I called and complained.

Avoid the St. Regis at all costs

Posted Jan 21, 2017 on Hotels
The St. Regis is a disaster. I made the mistake of using Hotels.com to prepay for two nights. What I got was a bed with a loud creaky sound like the mattress was 20 years old; a rumbling, poorly maintained heater; peeling wallpaper; a toilet paper holder with no bar; sketchy locks; broken outlets; and, worst of all, NO HOT WATER. The first night, I check in and go to take a shower, only to find out the room has no hot water. I call the front desk and they move me to a different room. The second room also has no hot water. It's lukewarm momentarily then cold. I call the front desk and I am told someone double-checked that the hot water worked. It does not. It's late, so there are no maintenance people to look into this until the morning. In the morning there’s STILL no hot water. I call again. This time I'm told if I turn on the sink and the shower at the same time I'll get hot water. OF COURSE. I try this and get lukewarm water for a few minutes before it goes ice cold again. I call the front desk and ask to speak to a manager. I'm told the manager will be in after 3 p.m. When I get back that afternoon I check the water. It's cold. I call the front desk and a manager says they sent someone to fix and that no one else is complaining. He says he can send someone to look at it. I request to move to another room instead. In my THIRD room, I get hot water. I do not recommend the St. Regis. It's raggedy. You probably won't have hot water. Stay away.

Thank you for your comments and feedback on your stay here with us. The City of Detroit was working on the main water lines, which caused us to cut our water supply off. That process did take longer than we had hoped for our guests and I apologize that you were not able to get hot water.

Dissatisfied customers...

Posted Jan 19, 2017 on Hotels
This was a horrible experience. Credit cards were charged that should not have been which resulted in 60.00 in overdrafts. We walked into the hotel bar to see if we get drinks to take back to our room and were treated like a inconvenience. Everything was an extra 20.00, fridge, microwave, parking etc. The temperature in our room could not be regulated, we slept with the window open in January. One room was supposed to have 2 beds and only had one. They decided to "test the system" and alarms went off consecutively for about 30 minutes at 9:00 am on a sunday morning. We called about the charges on the cards and we're again treated like an inconvenience, and were told that we were informed at check in. We were not, the card that was given to pay for the rooms has yet to be charged a dime. I'm really disappointed in what was supposed to be a landmark hotel in downtown Detroit. This also makes me leary to use hotels.com in the future.
