I had to be up at 4:00am for a flight to Detroit and went straight to a show from the plane, and straight from the show to the hotel. When I got there I was ready to rest for sure!.. but my room wasn’t ready. They promised it would only take 10 minutes but I watched what felt like 20 other customers get checked in without issue. After over half an hour I got back in line and after waiting asked politely if my room was ready. The front desk staff were awesome and looked into it thoroughly , though it did take another 15 minutes. They apologized and offered me $50 room credit, which was kind. I was pleasantly surprised when I found they had upgraded me to a suite! Great staff.

I have stayed at MotorCity numerous times over the past 20 years. Each time I stay I am surprised that no updates have been made to the rooms. Years ago it was a beautiful hotel. Now the rooms are very dated, in fact I think they are exactly the same. The carpets are often stained, the furniture in need of repair, overall the rooms are disappointing. The thing that never seems to change about MotorCity though is the amazing staff. Every single visit I am so impressed with the staff. From the valet parking attendants, the bellhops, and every staff member we come across in the casino. This hotel always makes us feel welcome. If you are looking for a higher end hotel room this probably isn't your best choice (and with the hotel being so expensive that is surprising) but if you are looking for a decent place to stay that has amazing staff than look no further. It is a fun and safe casino.
