Detroit Midtown Gem!

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: The history of the Inn, the gracious staff, the delicious breakfast, and its proximity to downtown attractions.
Cons: Be aware that there are not elevators on this property and you may be walking up flights of stairs to your room.
Location: The Inn is located on a lovely tree lined street. Midtown and downtown restaurants and attractions are just steps away.
The Inn is not your cookie cutter hotel! The property is beautiful and well maintained. The morning food service staff were welcoming. Breakfast was excellent in quality and selection. In the evening complementary chocolates, coffee and cake are available. The Inn has a shuttle service for drop off and pick up within 5 miles of the property, which nearly encompasses everything downtown. If you like to walk the downtown and midtown areas are safe and the new Q-line street car is is just step from the hotel. We had a great stay and will be back.

Beautiful home, comfortable bed, so relaxing!

Posted May 19, 2017
Beautiful home with a comfortable bed. The room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities I could want. It was so relaxing! I didn't sit down for breakfast, but was able to get yogurt, fruit and tea/coffee to go (I was in a hurry to get to a conference that morning). I was able to walk around the corner for a very nice dinner. All in all, a great place - I'll be back for sure!

Why in the World Would You Stay Anywhere Else?

Posted Mar 31, 2017
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Not much.
Location: The Detroit Institute of Arts isn't merely good--it's a world-class experience!
I know Detroit well. I'm taken there on business all the time. This place brings you in touch with the old city, the modern city. It's gracious and fun and actually connects you to something meaningful. Go stay at the Sheraton or the Hilton if you want to, but you're missing out on something precious.

If you love history, this is a place to consider.

Enjoyed the historic character of the houses, but we were placed in the 2nd carriage house, which was a bit disappointing. The room was clean, with an excellent bathroom. Our hallway door had a rather large gap around it, making the room rather noisy to those coming and going. We really enjoyed visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts about a block away. I would recommend the stay for those who love history.

The Inn on Ferry

Posted Feb 20, 2017 on Hotels
Loved the location and the outside appearance. We were disappointed that we didn't stay in one of the main homes. We were in a room that looked out at parking lots on each side. Bathroom was small with tiny shower and sink. The walls needed cleaning but I could see that the cleaning people would not see that if they weren't looking from certain angles. Just an FYI for them. The room was not worth the price. The staff and location was.
