The room was filthy - piles of crumbs on the floor, drink rings and sticky spills on the tables, sofa arms were visibly soiled and not the same color as the sofa. The shower didn't work. The linens were stained yellow. We planned to stay for 2 nights and checked out after just 1. Had we not been so tired when we arrived, we would not have stayed even one night.

This place is a hidden gem. Rooms are large and quiet. They are super pet friendly and yet the rooms and lobby don’t smell like they are! The kitchen had nice and newer appliances and even a small oven which is a rarity in any of the kitchenette chains! Jeremy, the assistant manager, is always helping me figure out the best rates and how to get everything I need. He’s kind and a real asset for your hotel. The other manager, Joel, is also super helpful. Imari is a fabulous front end worker and goes above and beyond. Last but certainly not least, the housekeeper, Tiffany, is always checking on me and making sure I have everything I need. She is very attentive. There is on site laundry for guests, a little pantry if you need a quick snack or beverage and a small workout room. Room is heated with a thermostat for a better heat and cool than attached to the unit. It’s always cozy. Water pressure is great, too. I am so pleased that I found this place. You can pay extra to stay somewhere else but this is the best bang for your buck in the area.

I don’t understand why the low ratings. It has been quiet, convenient, the staff has been super and the room is spacious and the appliances are nice and work perfectly. The bed is comfy, the icemaker and laundry area is well maintained. The lobby is decorated nice and is clean. Parking is plentiful. The 150 dollar deposit is excessive in my opinion but that is corporate set, not set by this hotel. Housekeeping is available when needed. All in all, a darn near perfect stay!

First thing is I paid online and this is not a 5 star place but the deposit was $150, now I had to pay it because it was no refunds once booked and everything else was booked. The property had dead bugs everywhere and the rooms are not insulated very well. At 2:30/3am the people in the next room were so loud it was like they were in our room. Also the carpet in the elevator was really disgusting an instant turnoff but if you just need a place to stay it’s not that bad if u look over all that. It’s just not for me. I just need to plan better.

Upon check in I was informed there would be a parking charge if I did not provide an email. I specifically book business hotels with no parking fees. I checked in the app- Free Parking was listed. When I went to the room, it had an odor- something like old cooking grease The odor extended to the hallway as well. I tolerated the room, as changing hotels would have been too much of a hassle.

The staff was very friendly. The accommodations were adequate. Bed linens were clean, but you could tell that that the room hadn't been swept in a while. Coffee maker and coffee provided in the room, but no cups. We were able to get cups and creamers in the lobby so problem solved.

The Management service is above and beyond. They are doing what they can with what they have. My first night was very difficult because I got a room that wasn't properly clean or in proper condition. It had dirty bedsheets, the dishwasher was full of dishes, and the closet had no door. I called the front desk, and they changed the room in less than 10 minutes. The next day, Jeremy, the Manager on shift, interviewed me to apologize and make himself available for any unwanted or unpleasant future events.

Very disappointing
The room we were given was very dirty. Spills on the kitchen floor, dirty dishes in the cupboard, dirty refrigerator with stuff left in it, hair on bathroom floor, carpet stains. I would never stay there again.

Expedia listing says repeatedly free parking and the staff told me it was not and i would charged $5 for the listed free parking. Not the amount but was not as listed. Then they over charged my card for the cost to stay by over $40 which i will call expedia about. This is the first time i have been charged more then listed by expedia obviously this hotel is a shady business. I will not stay here again.

The tub was nasty. It had hair and scum in it. I took a picture. Along with the top of the refrigerator (at eye level) being dusty & a chip crumb on the floor all made me question the overall cleanliness of the room.

Sonesta's a great choice if you're visiting Metro Detroit. The room was nice, cozy - kinda like a tiny apartment. Bathroom was clean. The kitchen and living room area were clean as well. One thing: the frying pan is the tiny one - so if you plan to cook, keep that in mind. I only had one small pot and one tiny pan during both my stays. BUT the restaurant situation is great. Crumbl Cookie is in the plaza behind us and there's a really great selection of restaurants, including Kura - a revolving sushi spot where robots serve you your food. Staff was friendly and helpful.

There are much better choices than this place.
The concept is good. We had a one bedroom suite due to my wife’s illness which required her to rest several times throughout the day. It allowed me to move around in the rest of the unit without disturbing her. When signing in, we were told that housekeeping would come once each week. Being we were staying for three weeks, we assumed they would come twice during our stay. The first time they came they made the bed. They didn’t change the sheets, didn’t change the towels, didn’t vacuum, didn’t clean the toilet, didn’t do anything other than make the bed. The second week, they did not do anything. I got fresh towels, toilet paper and Kleenex from the office. I asked about housekeeping and they said that they would come. They didn’t. The furniture in the unit was terrible. The couch/hide a bed was the most uncomfortable couch I have ever sat on plus the fabric was very soiled. It was impossible to see the tv from the couch. The only other seating was the two straight dining chairs at the table. These were ok for use while eating but not comfortable for just sitting and talking, watching tv or reading. As I said, the concept is good. The location is good. Sadly, the implementation is terrible. The staff members I saw appeared to be totally uninterested in their job. They had no answers for any questions. They did keep the coffee made and found some towels and toilet paper when asked. When we are in the area again we will stay at a suites hotel again BUT IT WONT BE HERE.

I booked a one night stay. The pictures on the website do not even come close to what the room actually looks like. Dirty, worn-out, 24 inch tv, dirty dishes, ants in the bed, smelled like smoke, urine around the base of the toilet. The cabinet doors under the sink were hanging by the hinges. 1/2 roll of toilet paper with no replacement. And even worse, my friends truck was keyed from one end to the other at some point. The staff was extremely rude. Limited pots, pans, dishes and silverware. Utterly disgusting.

We have stayed at this property several times before but this time we noted it was definitely downhill. The room wasn't thoroughly cleaned when we checked in. There was coffee in the coffee pot and I had to wipe down the counters. Our air conditioner and refrigerator did not work. The bathroom door didn't close. The only saving grace from a poor review is the staff responded quickly to each call we had to make. Not reported during our stay was that the hot water didn't work in the kitchen sink and the table to fold clothes in the laundry room was broken and not usable. We will look elsewhere on our next annual visit to the area.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
This hotel is disgusting, run down, dirty, and not worth the nightly rate of 150+. We moved to a hotel in the same parking lot and had an amazing stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms, pool, and breakfast included as well as saving $200 on our 4 night stay.
