Good on the onside, not so good on the inside

On the outside, the hotel looked great, but after check-in, I walked across the lot to another building to access my room, and the key did not work on the door, so I had to head back and get another one. The hallways in the other building smelled like mold and spoiled food, and the A/C did not seem to be functioning (it was 90 degrees out). The room itself as fine, but whomever was last in it did not lock the adjoining room and I did not notice it for a few hours until the door slowly started opening, which really unnerved me. I left the room and building 2 other times, and had to get the passkey re-set because it did not work on one of the outside doors, which in turn seemed to de-magnify it. For a Marriott property, this was a big disappointment.
