Good welcomePosted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: Entrance garden & waterfall nice.
Cons: Quite a lot!
Location: Don't did'nt stay that long, but it is close to Exeter.
Bedroom a little tired, no en-suite so had to wait for shower or bath. Sink only in room. Tea & coffee facility, nice cups.

Nice peaceful place to stayPosted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: The peace and quiet
We were breaking up our business trip and this was a lovely place to stop over for the night. Breakfast was lovely with freshly cooked full English and cereals, fruit and yoghurt to help yourself to whilst waiting all served with a smile. Very good.

The Worst Hotel EverPosted Jan 14, 2015 on Hotels
This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed. I do a great deal of travelling and see many hotels. so what was the deal breaker that gives this hotel my award for the worst hotel ever? Was it the tasteless animal pelts and other parts of dead animals that adorned the foyer? no Was it the live parrots and dogs that squawked and barked through the night? no was it the useless Wi-Fi or TV that had worse reception than use week old sandwich? or was it the dirty communal bathroom? no it wasn't that either. the award was won due to the hotelier attempting throw me out at 10PM for leaving the door open for a mere 2 minutes. He was unconcerned that I was lugging a heavy server to my car using my grand total of 2 arms, and didn't attempt to help either. he seemed more concerned that I grasp the concept of an open door allowing heat to escape. once I explained to him that I was no an imbecile and that could it was possible rustle up the power of few braincells to work that one out, he flipped his lid and decided he didn't want me as a paying customer anymore. luckily I stood my ground and stayed anyway, but going to the lengths of blocking the bedroom door to frankly get what I paid for is not a what I call a decent hotel.

what a great find!Posted Dec 8, 2014 on Hotels
It was a lovely stay.We were warmly greeted, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good.A short walk into the village to a community run pub and a good evening meal with a warm and friendly atmosphere. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly return.

Lovely old homePosted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The fact that it was very original. Very reasonably priced. Nice grounds.
Cons: Mattress needed replacing. Bed cover was tatty. Comfort is important.
Location: Close to Historic town of Exeter. We visited many of the seaside towns along the coast.
We were very pleased with our stay at Culm Vale Country House. Beautiful old country house, mostly all original features intact, high quality home cooked breakfast, large rooms and welcoming, informative hostess. A short driving distance to Exeter and the coast which was useful as the weather was quite warm. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Ein Kleinod abseits großer VerkehrswegePosted Aug 15, 2014
Wer alte englische Häuser mag, sollte es ausprobieren. Sehr guter Service, nette Gastgeberin. Schönes Anwesen, Möbel passen zur Geschichte des Hauses. Würde auf alle Fälle wiederkommen.

Vecchia villa con charmePosted Aug 7, 2014
Location: Stupenda strada nel bosco dalla ferrovia
Scelto per caso, da riitrovare per scelta. Penso che possa bastare, se no pazienza.
Note lack of private facilities.Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: Not much except for the breakfast.
Cons: More rails and hooks in the shared bathroom for hanging towels and clothes. More frequent checks for provision of toilet paper and shower gels.
Location: Nothing within walking distance except its own garden.
Easily overlooked the non availability of private bathroom when booking. The whole cottage and its fittings are very tired. The breakfast was good, especially poached eggs.

Nice stay in a country settingPosted May 18, 2014
Pros: The country setting and the charm of the grand double story building
Cons: For us, the bedding was far too soft
Location: Not too much to do nearby but drive elsewhere.
The biggest difficulty was finding the place. Had to stop in the town and enquire. It appears their B&B sign was away being repaired .It is a grand place on a country road but no noise. Some distance from Exeter but there is a very nice Inn a few miles away for evening dinner.
