Handy hotel near the Hoe with added benefit of pool and sauna only complaint would be our room on 10th floor was very noisy from the restaurant above late in evening and early breakfast.

Some improvements needed.
I have stayed at the Plaza many times, but recently noticed a steady decline on what you get in return for your money. Long lines at check in, I was 16th in line. Staff working hard to combat this. Premium room spacious, but very worn. stained carpets, stained towels, no robes/slippers or additional amenities in room. (We had them 4weeks ago) great king size bed, very comfortable, the room just felt like it needed a deep clean. Poor premium lounge big difference noticed since our last visit, very busy limited seating, a bigger space is needed for the amount of people wanting to access it at peak times (the limited hours alcohol is available) some people were unable to find seats and left. Breakfast items not restocked when running low, not a bad selection when all items are available. However all staff are polite friendly and welcoming. location is ideal for the Barbican, the Hoe, and the city centre. Parking is tight, the overflow is a little better. There are hotels half the price in this area, offering the same standards, Plaza needs to stop cutting back on amenities and staffing if it wants to keep it’s premium prices.

Crowne plaza
The location of the hotel is excellent directly overlooking Plymouth Hoe. The room itself was huge and the bed was enormous. The bathroom however was very disappointing- it was tiny and to get into the shower you had to climb over the toilet.

Service was very good. Bathroom in room was looking tired with broken sink surround. Shower was cramped and leaking from connections. Breakfast was excellent. Car park was very cramped. One of the lifts was out of order during stay putting pressure on other lifts at busy times.

Nice view, and staff are friendly. Food is nice, but didn't stand out as exceptional. The rooms are quite tired looking, and could do with a revamp - e.g. the desk was split on top, the shower/bath was functional but reminded me more of a student house than a 4-star hotel, and the shower gel was empty. Although check out is at 11am, the cleaner came into my room before 8am when I was in the shower. A pleasant stay, but I'm in no rush to return.

Nice hotel. But needs more staff.
Nice hotel in very good location in Plymouth. Rooms nice. Beds comfortable. Bathroom very small but adequate. The stay was let down by the shambles at breakfast! Obviously understaffed and those working very stressed at the pressure being put on them. Food constantly running out on the self service breakfast bar. Had to wait ages for bacon and never got any mushrooms. Long queues for everything. Great shame because everything else was great except for one very rude barman who didn’t like giving us extra t-bags for our room!

Second time staying here, we live in Looe but great for a night out and not worrying about how has to drive. Coincidentally the same room both times. Comfy beds, great view of the Hoe. Staff attentive and helpful. Will be back again

Great location, great room although bathroom a little tired. Only issue was car parking. Tight for bigger cars and really busy so not reliable to easily get space particularly if a function is on

Disappointing
Disappointing from the start as could not get early check in . We are Gold members so this should of been possible in a large hotel! The public toilets near bar area were smelly & messy & flush broken in one of the cubicles! The pillows in our room hard & lumpy & you needed to be agile to get into bath to use shower! The hotel could do with a total refurbishment a Shame as it is very convenient for the Hoe & Barbican area.

The location is perfect! Walking distance to the promenade along the waterfront and lots of restaurants nearby. Parking is available in an underground lot and small street lot, but it is tight like most UK parking. Hotel is clean and service is very good. Nice hotel bar and restaurant as well.
