Excellent stay

On arrival the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and attractive. We had a full English breakfast which was very nice. Definitely would stay there again.

More of a rooming house than a hotel

Posted Jun 4, 2017
This hotel is located on a busy road with very limited parking in a narrow laneway around the back. Breakfast was not available until 0900 but the manager did offer to try and get someone in if I wanted it earlier. Good features were a bath and plenty of storage space. However there was no towel rack or rail or hooks. Nothing was available in the bathroom to put things on and there was no bed lamp, and only one of three globes in the main light was working. Oh, and the light over the basin was not working.

Cheap Stay

Posted Mar 1, 2017
Pros: Location, cheap
Cons: Reception tv
Location: Near railway station, can walk to town or bus. North of city, opposite side of city to the Hoe.
Location not to bad, can walk to station and town, also buses. Quiet location except noise from next room. TV's no good no signal. Mattress on bed lumpy, room 2. No ensuite in single rooms. Breakfast pay extra but good.

not posh but good value

Posted Jan 25, 2017
Pros: near to the university.
Cons: the hotel is obviously being refurbished, and will be better when finished
Location: near the city centre, so plenty to do nearby
the hotel staff were friendly, the room clean warm and adequate for our needs. all we would expect for the price we paid.
