Great location

Posted Jul 26, 2016
Made quite a late booking. The only room available was a twin room (would prefer a double) but based on price, breakfast included, free parking and location (close to where friends were staying) we decided to make a booking. Very good clean condition even though it is an older style establishment. Lovely breakfast. Friendly welcome and staff. All in all, just what we needed.

Ideal location near the Hoe

Posted May 3, 2016
Pros: It was in a nice location, room was quiet and warm. Bed was comfortable. Nice bathroom and shower. Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice.
Location: Near the Hoe, short walk to the Harbour. Enjoyed the Distillery and the Aquarium
Enjoyed the whole weekend with plenty to see and do. Exceptional local pubs and restaurants serving great food.

Comfortable stay near Hoe

Free parking a plus. Rooms comfortable and clean, if a bit dated. Good value for money.

Very comfortable hotel and beautifully cooked English breakfast. Better value and experience than larger hotel chains nearby.

Great place to stay!

Posted Mar 10, 2016 on Hotels
This is a very welcoming hotel, but more like a B&B, we arrived early and couldn't check in, the owner was out shopping, and wasn't expecting our arrival till later, please don't let this put you off! Number One is a very well kept hotel, and staff are friendly and attentive. Our room was on the front of the hotel on a quiet st. Tea/coffee facilities, a small fridge for drinks/ medication, TV, hairdryer, extra bedding/pillows, a small heater if you feel a chill and a beautiful bathroom with toiletries. Could have done with a plug socket near the bed for mobile phone. Breakfast was freshly made, and set you up for the day, Only a 3min walk to 'The Hoe' 4mins to the theatre and 10 mins to the main shopping centre. The Gin Factory is great too!
