Excellent locationPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: The location is great and a real help having car parking
Cons: In need of decoration.
Location: We only stayed 4 nights so didn't go far. Totnes is worth a visit. If you like a mix independent shops, cafes. There's an artisan mkt fridays.
Ideally situated right on the harbour edge. the hotel was originally 6 fishermans cottages, so typical of the style of cottages in Brixham, the corridors are on quirky differing levels linked by small twisting staircases, which is awkward when carrying luggage, as there is no lift, but you get used to them at other times. The whole of Brixham is on a hillside so steps are everywhere. We were helped to our room on arrival. The hotel has it's own free car park a 5min walk away, up a slight hill, which is a hard slog with luggage, but a big plus as there is no parking outside, however it is possible to stop outside briefly to load/unload. We visited mid September when Brixham was less busy, and enjoyed wandering around the harbour and along to the breakwater in the day, and wandered around the harbour late in the evening before bed when it was deserted. The hotel is a bit tired looking, our twin room was adequate but only one comfy chair and one hard desk chair to watch tv on, as beds were at a bad angle to lie and watch from. Luckily we hardly needed the tv. The beds had not been vacumed underneath from previous guests and there were broken biscuits under. The beds were clean and comfy. We are not fussy but the tea, coffee and UHT milk in the room was awful. There is a good choice for breakfast, the full English was just ok! make sure you order it after the cereal/fruit to ensure it arrives hot. likewise for the toast. and croissants.

Quayside Hotel BrixhamPosted May 27, 2015 on Hotels
Nice hotel but in a quirky way it's made up of several buildings moulded into one, so lots of stairs and narrow passageways, The room was clean warm and sufficient for our 2 night stay. The food was 5* in the restaurant, you'll need your walking shoe's for this area

Excellent venue.Posted May 20, 2015 on Hotels
We wanted a long weekend as a break and knew that a friend was to stay at this hotel later this year so took the opportunity to try it out. The hotel is clean and the accommodation is excellent, we had a view over the harbour. We used the restaurant every evening as the meals and service were second to none. Only downside is the car park is 5min walk away but this is surmounted by all other aspects of this hotel.

Great view shame about the roomPosted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Location, views of the harbour and food
Cons: Decoration, replace the net curtains which had holes and make sure the light bulbs worked
Location: Brixham harbour, Dartmouth, fabulous countryside and coast
Top floor sea view room reached via narrow steep stairs. The room was single glazed with old metal windows - from the outside it looked as if it was an after thought as it didn't match the rest of the hotel. Room internally was shabby with very small en suite shower room. Car park was two streets away and not secure. Great location but tired accommodation.
