Lovely friendly relaxing small village pubPosted Aug 10, 2015
Cons: The room we were in was immaculate but was slightly damp and smelt of damp.
Location: A quiet escape but close enough to the main towns.
We stayed for two nights, absolutely loved the whole experience. From the food to the staff it was perfect for a romantic getaway. The room was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get out to go for the breakfast that was cooked to order, the housekeeper, was so friendly when she took our breakfast order we wanted to bring her home with us. The rest of the staff were equally welcoming and friendly, the pub itself was the centre of the village, the food they served was far from pub grub, it was beyond our expectations. So fresh and beautifully presented.

Lovely pub with friendly owners and staff, could do with starting breakfast a little earlier at 8 am instead of 830am to accommodate business appointments.

Massive mushrooms (for breakfast !)Posted Apr 28, 2015 on Hotels
Our stay was for a 3 night weekend. On arrival there was some nice local folk players playing music in the bar. We had a nice welcome from the owners. We were looked after very well for the rest of our stay with very nice meals and breakfast and lovely staff. If you enjoy walking there is plenty nearby including a great walk to Totnes.

Durant Arms Hotel, Ashsprington.Posted Apr 28, 2015 on Hotels
A really nice friendly hotel, situated in a beautiful village, with easy access to Totnes and Dartmouth. The bedroom was comfortable and the food was good quality, although perhaps a little shy on quantity. I think the toilet bowl had not been properly cleaned for some time. Otherwise it was great and I shall use the hotel again.

After a spa day at the dartmooth spa golf hotel, we stopped at the Durand in, for the night. The locals made us very welcome. Lovely food, will definitely come back if in the area again.
