We got what was surely the worst room in a hotel. Turns out most if not all the rooms are like this, even though it is a US branded hotel (Best Western). There were bright orange and green lights IN OUR ROOM! I kid you not. For $200 a night, we paid to advertise our hotel. Blackout curtains didn't help. And I stupidly paid $20 for a glass of wine at the hotel bar in a town where wine is $3 a glass. Bought a bottle at a local wine shop for $4 for the next 2 nights. Not sure if there are "dark" rooms. Didn't think to ask. Check it out.

Excellent design and very good service
We stayed at the Vertigo for just one night, on a stopover on our way to Corsica. The design is fabulous - gleaming black glass and marble everywhere. Our check-in and instructions for the parking were very easy and the lady on reception spoke both French and English fluently. Once in our room, we were both impressed with how well the relatively small space had been laid out, so it felt airy and light, with beautiful design features like waterfall taps in the sink. We stopped for a cocktail in the bar, which was delicious, before heading out to find dinner. The hotel is well placed to walk to plenty of restaurants. After a good night's sleep on the comfy, seemingly floating, bed, we had a full breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausages in cute little pots, plus the usual array of pastries - before a quick, simple checkout. We completely forgot that Vertigo also has a pool, so didn't use it, but would definitely return next time and do so. Recommended!

Zany but high quality hotel
We chose the hotel so as to have one in central Dijon with a swimming pool over a very hot weekend. In fact, the pool is tiny, but the hotel was in most ways excellent. Excellent service, all the facilities to a high standard. The only problem is that the designers have made it into a 'theme' hotel -- the theme being, it seems, to have everything in black: a Stygian lobby and reception area, a sepulchral lift and black-walled corridors. This pointless zaniness vitiates the experience of staying at the hotel but did not spoil is for us.

The hotel is at a very good location and nice design. The room on the fifth floor was under the roof and very small. The ceiling is very annoying. Staff is helpful and kind.

I have very mixed feelings about this stay. Hotel is in great location near Darcy park in Dijon and walking distance to everything. Checkin was easy (was traveling with other family members). My room was on top floor and the architectural and design elements highlighted the quirkiness of the place. The room felt a bit tight because of the roof and hanging tv from the side wall. I kept having to duck to avoid banging my head. After a good night’s sleep but after waking up and pulling out the covers I realized my sheets had a smear of blood on them... I requested they be changed and to move to a new room. The staff was very accommodating and the new room was fantastic compared to the first one so I would recommend sticking to floors 1-4. The second morning I woke up covered in insect bites all over my upper body. Turns out a spider had made a meal of me during my sleep. I went back to the front desk and showed them my face and arms and asked that they take a look and kill whatever did that to me. They were apologetic and took care of it The third night was uneventful. I guess housekeeping is the hotel’s achillees heel. Better inspection of the sheets and rooms would have prevented both events and left me unscarred from the spider bites. The other two rooms that my family had didn’t have these issues so I was unlucky. The spa was a bit crowded but the fitness center was great with three brand new machines. The bar is fantastic with creative cocktails and friendly bartender.

Beautiful hotel, nice spa facilities and great location. Check-in was a bit strange because we were early and rooms aren't free until 3 pm (which is fine and clearly signposted on Expedia) but the result is we weren't given a welcome refreshment, weren't reminded about city tax until checkout and weren't told about things like when the spa was open upon arrival. Not a huge deal but did make the process feel very impersonal. Overall enjoyed the stay and it's a great experience.

Only major disappointment was the advertisement that they had a pool. It’s more of a large hot tub. You cannot swim in their “pool”. They should have made that clear. Also parking leaves a lot to be desired. If you try to park after midnight, the gate is closed and no one opens it for you. You’re left to circle the streets to look for public parking in the middle of the night.

Good safe location
As you would expect from a chain hotel. All good no eve food but the town is less than 5mins and loads of options there. Private parking but additional charge and tight - no range rovers :(x

It’s a great hotel, with a very modern take on a compact space. For a Solo traveler the rooms was great. The front desk, breakfast and bar staff were all engaged and helpful. The hotel is centrally located - it literally is 10 minutes walk from the train station and from there you can explore the rest of Dijon easily, Look forward to staying there again.

Great hotel for a 1 night stay in Dijon. Perfect location and very accommodating staff. They recommended a great restaurant nearby and called and made dinner reservations for us. We also thoroughly enjoyed the spa! Room was teeny tiny but was fine for a short stay.

Very modern hotel, room was very clean, and the location was fabulous for our first time there. Close to the old town and restaurants, and we got to use the bicycles to tour the back country of Dijon. It was the highlight of our trip. Our only complaint was that the room was very very small. We knew that it was 190 sq ft, but what we did not expect was that they put this huge 6 ft tall tv in the room which took up the entire wall and stood a foot away from the wall. That was space that we needed to open suit cases and we did not need that big thing in the middle of the room ( and we were very cautious around it because we didn’t want to break it). We would stay here again but maybe a bigger room).

Great location~ could walk to shopping area. Front desk was NOT helpful with spa reservations. Seemed to not know much about the spa, which was a reason I came, and it turned me off to trying spa, so sadly I didn't try.
