We stayed here during hurricane Irma. It's a great place to bunker down and never leave, especially if you have a family. Another plus is that they have accommodations for pets, with doggie park and plenty ol nice grass. There's a nice minigolf, a water park, a buffet, a theater that plays Disney movies, and a pizzeria with delivery.

Ok if you just need to spend the one night.

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Pros: Various recreational amenities and groceries in place.
Cons: Service, Attention to client!!!!
Location: Disney world parks
The initial room cleanliness was not good, the carpet dusty and the bath and toilet not very clean, after 4 days they came but didn't clean the room, just changed some towels. From day 1 and several times, I reported the DVD player cable missing, the issue was never addressed. The key stop working couple times and needed to go back and forth several times to have it corrected. The check-in time was a nightmare, more than 2 hours, I can understand it if there is no capacity to attend several people at once, but they had more than half check in registers closed and instead several people, just to organize the long line, no words. The internet was intermittent and slow, the technical stuff was never available to try to address the issue, even when from front desk tried to reach them, several times. Last but not least the at Expedia this hotel was advertised as +VIP for gold members with "Exclusive Amenities ", guess what, no such thing, the amenities were the same for everyone and part of the resort fee.

We evacuated here from Hurricane Irma, everyone was nice, I would have given a 5+ rating, but when I checked in I asked to have the $100 pet fee waived because we were in an evacuation zone, I was told no because Westgate is "Hurricane proof" which is great, but my home is not, that is why I evacuated with the dog.

Service fell apart

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Stayed here while evacuating hurricane Irma from south Florida. 2 hours to check-in was explained due to high number of evacuee arriving. Not sure why it had to take 20 minutes per guest when hotel8 can do under 3. Odd but understood. Next, house keeping, while physically present on our floor, did not clean our room. Ok, I guess too busy. Next toilet started over flowing. Tried calling front desk - all phones are down but someone is working on it. Calls to their external line go unanswered for 20 minutes. Walk over to the reception building - gentleman came with a plunger. Wifi, while present, operates at dial up speed. Not the end of the world. One day later Iater, toilet over flowing again. Call external phone number and I'm told someone would be over around 6PM, 3 hour wait but hey they're busy. By 7:30 no one showed up. Call them back. Oh, all maintenance staff is gone for the day! Where are we supposed to go to the bathroom?! "Oh sorry for inconvenience". doesn't really helping me?! Where should I use the restroom. "......". How about the empty room next door? Can you open it so we can use their bathroom? "Oh sorry, someone is coming to stay there". No one stayed in the room next door and I really enjoyed waking up at 4AM, getting dressed and taking 7 minute walk just to use the restroom. Oh and by the way, they still charge full price!!

Terrible Bad service

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Change Management
Location: I preferred Lake Buen Vista or International Drive location
I stay in the Hurricanes Irma time. The hotel charge full price and take advantage from guests during the time we can not move out. Also don't provide food and any type of service. Other Hotels was much better with guest. I never will recommend other people to come to this hotel.

Room was nice enough, location was good--lots of resort amenities! The only major complaint we have is that it took 1 hour to check in and we were there 20 minutes after check in time started. There was a HUGE line (and it kept getting longer) and while the staff was as efficient as they could be, the wait was completely unexpected and caused us to be late to our dinner show. We might stay here again but we will definitely have to plan to come early and wait awhile to check in, which isn't how anyone wants to spend their vacation.

The check-in process was dreadful!!! The amenities were good. The waterpark was worth the price. There was tons of construction going on, loud noises early in the morning waking us up due to construction. Pets should not be allowed in all the hotels. A dog urinated right outside our door.

Pros: nothing
It was very very bad experience. our check in time was 4.00 but we get there at 5.00 for safe side. but that was very big line for check in. it was like more then 2 hours waiting. so, we decided to fun spot & dinner then come back at 10.35 for check in. we got rooms keys & the room # was 6035 but when get there there was no room 6035 A,B,C,D. then we call for hotel to get right room then they gave us room 6035 B. When we try our rooms key. The rooms keys wasn't working at all. Then called them again so, they send some security people & then they can't open the that room. we was waiting outside & my son wants to go bathroom badly, I asked them how long its gonna take & they were very very rude people. They told me to we don't know you should go to hotel front desk. they wasn't helping at all. Then i have to go lobby again then i was very upset then they give me another room. After all this done we are enter our room at 12:45 The hotel staff was very very rude specially security people. its was there fault they can't open the door & they didn't say sorry or anything. I don't recommend to any one. very very BIG property but very low categary people. I am very sorry to write all this. May be they can implement some thing.

Cris, thank you for your input. We regret to hear that your recent stay with us was anything less than exceptional. We hope that our front desk staff was made aware of any housekeeping issues to be addressed. We take all reports of pests seriously. Rest assured we have a pest control company that comes frequently for preventative treatment and again whenever pests are found inside the resort. Our property has less than one percent of resort guests report any finding of pest, of any kind, in their unit. We apologize for any inconvenience and do hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us. Sam
