    About this property

Exclusive Views of Unesco World Heritage Site Taliesin From Historic Suite

    Adults-only guesthouse in Spring Green
"Inwood" is perched hill on a rugged limestone hill and infused with architectural history. This two bedroom/one bath guest suite with an open floor plan of 1300 square feet, awaits. The private guest suite consists of the entire original mid-century home designed in 1953 by Taliesin Apprentice, John Howe, as his summer home, with a 1966 wing addition for visiting apprentices. Howe was Wright's Chief Draftsman, known as "the pencil in Mr. Wright's hand." The suite is attached to host's home through a locked interior doorway to ensure privacy and comfort. Step up into bedroom # 1 with woodland, waterfall and courtyard views. Its unique interior architectural style is sure to impress. Step down through limestone stairs to the Master bedroom with panoramic views of the Taliesin Estate a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your suite offers classic organic architecture. Climb the hill above your guest suite to your private deck where magnificent Wisconsin River views and sunsets will enthrall. The suite's furnishings are mindfully curated with mid-century pieces blended with uber modern finds. The kitchenette's locally sourced hickory cabinets were handcrafted by local Amish artisans. This gorgeous one-of-a-kind suite is the perfect setting for touring local attractions. The suite does not have a full kitchen. The kitchenette is stocked with service for 4, a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and toaster. The spacious bathroom boasts a uniquely designed shower large enough for two. Plenty of towels and linens are provided. Parking is free. Host charges an additional fee of $25 per guest per night for each additional guest after two. Your guest suite is centrally located 1 mile from Taliesin, 2.5 miles from American Player's Theater and a world class 27 hole, championship golf course. The first 18 holes were designed by world renowned golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Spring Green is the nearest town with a population of slightly over 1600 where you will find restaurants, bars and wonderful independent shops. The space is ideal for solo travelers or couples looking for romance or adventure whether it be great architecture, theater, golf, or the rare Driftless Region landscapes. Single travelers, whether visiting for business or pleasure will find comfort in the intimate spaces throughout. This secluded guest suite stands perched on a hillside of limestone. Uniquely private, guests will love the off-the-grid vibe while enjoying the comfort and convenience of modern amenities. Be mindful that the home is accessible on a 1/2 mile drive through an adjacent farm. If guests arrive at night, there is no lighting on the Country Road, nor on the driveway, nor is there much lighting around the home. The home is rural, rustic and secluded. It is best to arrive during light time hours. Even then, do not rely entirely on GPS as cell service in the entire area is poor. Wildlife surrounds the home. In the summer, if engaging in outdoor activities anywhere nearby, including if attending a play at the APT outdoor theater, bring along mosquito repellent. If not sure of foot, this may not be the right place. The grounds are rugged, rocky and uneven. Access to the suite is over a stone bridge requiring balance. The views are "million dollar" views. Take time to enjoy.

      Incredible views

The property was everything as described. The history and ties to Frank Lloyd Wright and Taliesin was a bonus. We look forward to returning.

      5/5 Excellent

We were two couples who enjoyed time together and flipped a coin for who got which bedroom. We had brought food for breakfast and found the view to be a good digestive. Thanks for the opportunity also to learn about Howe, the architect. We hope to stay there again some time.

          Talliesin View

We were extremely pleased with the condition of our suite, especially the stunning view overlooking Talliesin. Greg and Tia were great to work with prior to and upon arrival.

            Stellar STARchitecture

Hostess Tia Graves is most immediately prompt responding to emails and text communication. This property listing is very detailed, and proves to be thorough and accurate [ie driveway description, unreliable cellular service area, entrydoor steps over courtyard fountain--alternate entry was offered/provided but the usual entry was not difficult for my aging mother providing I valeted her luggage] so that expectations are realistic. The bedding, linens/towels, are clean and high-quality ensuring that each of the three overnights during my stay were most comfortable. The quality/condition of all the furnishings and amenities are superior and most adequate, including the well-stocked kitchenette dishware, ample paper towel/Kleenex/toilet tissue, lots of extra blankets, fans, space heaters/air conditioning units exceed the number of rooms!

            5/5 Excellent

              Tranquil getaway

The host home was absolutely charming!!! The owner's choice of decor added to the unique quaintness. The views of Taliesin from the main bedroom and rooftop deck was remarkable. The place was Perfect for a quiet getaway and located to so many local attractions. A not to be missed is seeing the night sky from the deck. We had a chance to witness numerous shooting stars. The sound of the waterfall set the mood for the entire relaxing weekend. Thank you for sharing this wonderful gem.
